The Klingons vie for territory. They want to expand and conquer. I get that.. things change though. They could see a potential in gaining Romulan allies if it benefitted them.. the Romulans could even potentially give them planets in the sorry state they're in right now in exchange for helping them take out their enemies.

This "implementation" represents a waste of time and resources as well. For it is impossible to digest, unless you're on some very strange diet.

There is as much focus here, as expected for a person suddenly being blinded by strange meteors, bumping the head into every obstacle that is put out in the night, and then attacked by Triffids.

That is my fair and balanced view at any rate. Have a continued excellent [insert local time here.]

Actually it's feasible. Yours is not.
Romulans would sooner make and alliance with the Federation, Cardassians or just about ANYONE before the Klingons. Same goes for the Klingons who would sooner end the war with the Feds than join with the Romulans.
It's a ridiculous idea that has no real merit. My idea which has nothing to do with this thread has a heck of a lot more merit and is infinitely more realistic that this Klingon / Rommie idea.

There's no way in fudgey fudge fudge town that the Klingons would ally with the Romulans. Look at all the lore and history. It won't happen!

Sure, STO can make it happen but it would be forced and ugly.

Yes... in the past. And that's the past for a reason.

They would against a common enemy like the Federation, history aside.

No, simply no. The only thing that kept them allies of the Romulans was the Federation. In soft canon sources they have in fact sided with the Remans since the events of Nemesis, which further points to the preposterousness of a Romulan Klingon alliance.

There is SIGNIFICANTLY less bad blood between the Federation and Klingon Empire than there is between the Klingon Empire and the Romulan Empire. In fact there is less bad blood between just about anyone than there is between the klingons and romulans.

I'm just waiting for this future patch note:

General
  • Klingon faction renamed to "Klingon Federation of Planets", to reflect their new role in the game as the Federation with forehead ridges.

I think the only thing Cryptic is waiting on is a good story reason why they'd stay at war with the Feds despite being exactly like them.

Let's look at history.

In TOS the Romulans got Klingon ship designs and after that the Klingons mystically had cloaks.....
In Star Trek VI the Romulan ambassador was one of the people who belonged the secret Klingon/Federation alliance to sabotage the peace.
During TNG Sela and the Duras sisters collaborated. Now Sela officially controls the Romulan Empire, while Ja'rod Lursa's son has a lot of pull in the Klingon Empire.
Someone else who has pull in the Klingon Empire is Worf who remarked in his last canon appearance that "the Romulans fought with honour" (against Shinzon).

Not mentioning that the Klingons have taken in a bunch of criminals and honourless thugs (called Orion Syndicate and Nausicaans). There's actually no better time for some Romulans joining the KDF.

You can be a Star Fleet Klingon Captain because some klingons side with the Federation. It is only logical to assume that some Romulans would side with the Federation and Join star fleet. but that doesn't mean the romulans wouldn't have their own faction, as klingons serve in star fleet and they have their own faction. I support the Romulans being a playable faction for either side, and as someone has already stated, the Romulans are allies with Duras, so that is feasible, but if it sill bothers you klinks, take the hirogen as playable characters instead. Their thirst for violence would make sense in going to your side anyway.
