Fantastic episode! I've enjoyed it from the start to the end, except the server down time.

Keep up the good work, Cryptic! Cant wait to see the next episode. You raise the bar with every episode. I'm impressed with your skills to tell good stories. I hope that every part of STO will have this level of quality someday. The weekly episodes have shown what your team is capable of and i'm dying to see more of that.

That mission was amazing. I loved shooting up the rommies. I got the Tac Accolade because I was with a Tac on my Main Engy. So it felt even better. Pet Horta FTW. Also I loved Decoding the encryption. So awesome. Great job. The In Game Cutscenes reminded me a lot of Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast which is a game I used to play religously. So I hope to see more of them added in game. Thank you cryptic. Can't wait till next week.

very fun....really enjoyed. Just wish I was with a team to get all of the individual accolades...guess I'll just have to team up on replay!

Which is just the type of forced socialising mmos are supposed to do..

.. I just re ran it with that in mind and had a blast ofc with my team mates

I totally agree - absolutely brilliant. Loved the puzzle in the ready room. Very cool.

The improvement to this game and the featured episode series just go from strength to strength!!
Can't wait for the next ep!

Another bug, she wouldn't talk to us at the end even though we had her down to no health. another beam out/beam in and the prisoners met us half-way back in and then she worked properly that time.

Yeah, I think this is probably one of the best episodes put out so far (I still think What Lies Beneath is my most favorite, but this comes damn close), and I enjoyed it a ton!

Following is a bunch of spoilers, but, hopefully, anyone reading this thread would expect that (seeing as how the title of the thread is '<3 Mine Enemy <3').




Things I like/love:
  • The overall look of the mining colony. The domesticated Warriguls, mine cars moving down tracks, the tower spotlights, all of it is pretty awesome. Even the occasional crazy miner I had to kill because they thought I was trying to take their magnesite, lol.
  • The different objectives for helping the miners in exchange for information before Madran lets you into the mine. I played as my Science main, so doing a geological survey (will ever decreasing search areas) was very cool.
  • Having my Diplomacy level influence my chance of getting past the mine's guard, as well as decreasing the number of Romulans I had to kill in the next room.
  • Being able to free the Romulan captured miners, and having them help me with Janek, as well as following me through the rest of the base (well, 3 of them did the majority of the way (the 4th was killed in the battle with Janek), and 2 of them made it all the way to exit with me). Was a very nice touch, and felt 'Trek' to me.
  • After I rescued the captives and made my way back into the surveillance room, they went crazy and started attacking the analysts, lol. (I was happy sneaking around them without fighting) Although, it gave me a chance to access the consoles and read the intelligence they had on various things. My favorite was the Borg one: "Resistance is Futile" and that was all they had.
  • Being able to travel north, after Hakeev set the station's self-destruct, and meeting and helping a Horta was awesome! Especially the accolade, 'No Kill I'
  • Having to go to our Ready Room and decipher the Tal Shiar files was very cool, too. I liked the way it was done with the seperate files, and the decoded message, once completed, was very interesting. I'm guessing we'll be going to the Dera system next week, to find out what the Remans (and Tal Shiar) are doing, eh?
  • Horta pet as reward: Awesomesauce!
  • The cutscenes and voice-overs were also very nice, and added to the story. I'm looking forward to hopefully kicking Hakeev's (who's outfit is quite nice, I must say) teeth in soon!

Overall, a very awesome episode, and a very 'Treky' one! Bravo to you, Cryptic, and I look forward to next week's!

Now, onto what I didn't like/bugs:
  • When contacting the 2nd moon, I noticed a typo. 'Solicitors' was 'Solictors,' so it's missing an 'i'.
  • Also, during the dialog for the 2nd moon, my officer dialog box popped up with my Engineering Officer's name, but had my (highest slotted) Science Officer's picture instead. Either the name is wrong, or the picture is.
  • No respawn point in the mine/base. I'm listing this as a gripe mainly because of the server meltdowns we had, and you have to redo the whole mine/base part if you get disconnected. Maybe we could have one after the fight/talk with Commander Janek?
  • Speaking of the fight with Janek, my first encounter with her was a bit screwy. I used 'T' to pause time right before it started, and I couldn't use my keys to activate anything after that. I still could use 'T', 'H', 'X' (which I use to tell away team members to attack my target), etc, but I had to manually click on my power tray's icons to use anything. I didn't experience this on the other 3 times I had to fight her, so I'm not sure if it was a fluke, or because I paused time the first go around (I didn't use 'T' the other 3 times.).
  • When checking the hole in the way in the room prior to the one with the Horta in it, my officer's picture didn't show up in the dialog box. (Her name and dialog showed, but the picture was just blank.)
  • Didn't receive any skill points upon completion of the mission. It wasn't a big deal for me, since my character was a VA already and the points would've been added to my huge pile of officer points, but it still is a pretty major bug.

So, other than a few nit picky errors, and the respawn issue, I couldn't really find too much at fault with this one. Excellent work, guys and gals, and I wish it was next Saturday already, so I could play the next one!

(I don't want to put anything more in my post about the server problems, since there's another thread for those. I just hope and pray that the third time's the charm, and it won't happen again next week. Besides, it's not the fault of this excellent episode that the servers went crazy, heh.)

And... as expected once you manage to get around the "team transfer to bridge" bug you can't finish the mission on a teammates bridge.

Good story, needs lots of work where teams are involved though. If the story wasn't so awesome I might actually be a bit upset about all the glitches, but I had fun regardless.
