# 1 Removing Objects

I have another question.

I have created a task that requires to enter an access code to lower a forcefiled blocking a door.

How do you get the forcefield to disapear after interacting with an object like a console or something? Can this be done yet?

not presently without making the interaction transfer you to another copy of the map. It might be possible when some of the new features in the Foundry update come online, but I do not know if this is the case at present.

Think of it more as an exercise in being more creative given the limitations presented. You take the lemons and you make lemonade.

Just make it part of the story as to why you can't lower the forcefield.

I had the same problem in one of my missions, Empty Soul, that took place on DS9. The turbo lift doors dont work to get to the second level so I had to find another way up there.

Simply turning off a forcefield by using a console is too easy anyways, as is common in some of the Cryptic missions. These restrictions force you to think outside of the box.

This cannot be done yet but is a part of the Foundry roadmap and you'll be able to accomplish this in your mission... Soon™

I still recon Gene Rodenberry had more Restriction towards what he wanted to create originaly... I bet he would have loved the foundry and would have made amazing stories with the restrictions.

Easy work around:

Have the console used to lower the forcefield on another map.

*encounter forcefield
"dang, we should go to Ops to see if we can disable it"
*go through a door*
*change map, interact with console*
*go through a door*
*Transfer to an exact replica of the first map, without the forcefield*

voila

This is the current work around, it appears though, and we will know for sure once they throw the doors back open on the foundry, that we wont have to go to these lengths anymore and objects can be despawned using triggers.

I don't think the object is actually despawned but rather becomes invisible and inactive.
