It does bother me with the chronitons mines ,that hinders you from moving, all over the place(granted that i only use cannon scattervolley)- an escort must move and cant take such a beating as cruisers.

No, I don't equip a lot of counter skills aimed at mines. One of my ships has FAW1; the other cannon spread ii, which really isn't a counter, but sorta is.

It bothers me when someone uses a tractor beam on me, even more so when three people use it on me at the same time, but that is part of the game. Let's nerf that too, because it is annoying. Personally, I just don't get it. Mines are too ineffective IMO to be much use except as chaff. If someone wants to waste a weapons slot or two or three (would the cool downs allow that?), have at it.

Wow, now there is one biased opinion. I hate to burst your bubble Roach, but Klingons do it too. I've been in a lot of PvP matches where my Klingon opponents have released their "cloud of mines and PF's", so you can not say that only feds do it.

BTW, love the avatar. Reminds me of an old gym teacher

I agree with you in the 100%. Entire NPC spam like: mines, pets and photonic fleets, should be in other colour than attacked by us competitors.
Because I think that from all mines tricobalts are the most dangerous, I think that Criptic could design them as incessantly, strongly pulsing points so that it's possible to quickly neutralize them before they will hit you.

u do realize you can get rid of mines with so many ways its a shame. let them spam mines. from gravity well to vortex to eject warp plasma to shock wave. U can also shoot them down so whats the deal about mine spamming. even a tractor beam repulsar can get rid of them easy. if your in pvp and you have a science captain in the match they can take down mine feilds the fastest. engineers are second fastest at mine feilds.

Im a Sci. Capt and I agree, I usually use my DSSV. I pop in a hull and shield heal then plow through them with evasive man. Not the most elegant but i can clear them out for the rest of my team pretty quickly.

I play this game on a low end computer, If I join a pvp match with a premade spamming mines, I leave. It sucks, but i'm only going to get 2-3 fps with all that crap on my screen, & I won't be able to use anything on my power tray, thus making me a liability to my team.
If I leave, someone might come in who has a graphic card that can handle the spam & contribute to the team.
I have been a hardcore PVPer since I started playing this game, I used to play for hours a day. now I usually get annoyed & log off in an hour or less. PVP against premades stacking 10 minelayers + 10 copies of one sci skill has totally bored me . It's just not fun anymore. PVE is fall asleep boring. Why am I still subbing for this game again?

I know, but i first saw it among fed premades way back the release days when I was comming up through the ranks to LG. I dind't say only feds did, just that I've disliked it since those days it started as a common fed tactic.
Most KDF players didn't mess with mines in those days as it took away from straight alpha-damage, so it was more commonly seen on fed premades in pug.
Its been so long and I've gotten so used to them I hardly notice anymore unless slowed or my targeting was affected.
Targeting is the reason I speak of it now. Now nothing you preset or do allows one to ignore them if you tab-target. A habit I also moved away from.

You must've gone to a tough school.

a few other tricks

have fire at will 1 in tac BO

have tractor beam repular 2 in sci bo

use evaisive and you can plow through them without even worrying about your hull, plus you can pop a sheild heal or have an engineer follow you to extend sheilds. when you come to a stop and their are still mines then pop that famous shock wave and all those mines go bye bye lol i love to have them mines activate on me cause i take them down with eas while still on my same target. if you are fast enough u can target 2 different ships or objects without fire at will mind you.

While you are correct targetting issues are the main thing, time countering mines is less time firing on an enemy ship and for those with lower end computers even firing off BOff powers can be come tedious.

Oh crap there are a ton mines time for FaW, damn did go, time for FaW, double damn still didn't go, time for FaW WTF it didn't go, time for FaW finally after the 4 frickin times hitting the power, damn now I am dead.

Besides graphical lag (rubber banding low FPS) there is UI lag, having to hit a power multiple times to get it to fire because of the load as we all now especially for tacs nothing screws an alpha up like having half your powers firing before yopu can get the others to fire off also.
