When talking to Commander Janek I only get the option to kill her, if choosing other conversational options the conversation loops. Is there any specific prerequisite to spare the Commander? I already couldn't spare the guard either.

I'm guessing some kind of diplomatic level or a specific role (doctors might trick the guard they're here to heal people). But there's no real indication that I lack something to proceed in that way and Janek's looping conversation is confusing. If my away-team officer would simply state "Captain, if you would have more experience in diplomacy, you might be able to resolve this issue peacefully." then I as player can understand I may want to grind my diplomacy up.

There are just to many subtle (and not so sublte) hints that she should be savable, but not a single clue as to how... does anyone know?

You can spare her if you have enough rank in Diplomacy. So far only my one Ambassador has been able to do it.

Yeah on my KDF side this caused the mission to break for me causing me to have to drop the mission and restart it.

I dont believe Klingons can do any of the peaceful optionals. If this is part of the game, the devs need to remove the peaceful, optionals. Or fix it. I kinda want that accolade on my KDF. But if KDFers cant get it then we dont need to be teased.

Sparing her worked for my envoy.

The blue characters in my sig are Feds; red ones are Klingons.

Oh I was hoping I missed something and could Diplo rank my Klingon somehow.

I went through and spared her without a problem.

I actually did things in the wrong order and defeated her BEFORE I let the prisoners out.

Also, my single away team member was killed by Thalaron Radiation. She was nothing more than a dead, burned husk.

I then revived her with CPR.

Ditto. Though my Envoy couldn't talk his way past the inital guard.
