Hi. I thought it might be fun to go around and ask everyone what kind of music they listen to when they play STO.

I tried to export my playlist using itunes, but when I opened the file, it looked like gibberish.

So I thought I would just list what I have instead.

I listen to a playslist of entirely instrumental music.

Eve Online Soundtrack (ripped files from the game and then uninstalled it)
Aliens (1986) Soundtrack
Dune (1984) Soundtrack
Predator (1987) Soundtrack
Gladiator (2000) Soundtrack
Batman (1989) Soundtrack
Flash Gordon (1980) Soundtrack
Conan the Barbarian (1982) Soundtrack
TRON: Legacy (2010) Soundtrack
The Hunt for Red October (1990) Soundtrack
Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles (1994) Sountrack
The rest is a mix of various instrumental misc files, including some Beethoven & Bach.
I use instrumental music when I study for college too. I find it very peaceful.

Not STO specifically, but for some reason I like listening to Savage Garden while I'm grinding.

Depends. During PvP I like to listen to Iron Maiden older albums (Piece of Mind), or AC/DC. In Kerrat I listen to Star Trek 2 soundtrack too.
During grinding, I listen to anything from Mark Knopfler, sometimes Satriani

Most of the default soundtrack, with a few extra tracks from other Trek stuff inserted to replace the default songs I didn't like (for example, Sirius/Regulus plays a slow track from Star Trek XI instead of that random drum beat, or the Wrath of Khan fight music replaces one of the lamer battle themes). I need to re-adjust the game so it plays The Picard Song in Club 47 again (that stopped working after the ESD update).

I just have my whole audio library shuffling whenever I remember to turn it on. It can go from the soundtrack from Dune to a comedy routine.

The whole Halo Discography
The EVE Online Soundtrack
Tron Legacy Soundtrack

This 3 Discographies have about 9 hours playtime. Beside this they mostly fit to the game immersion.

Persona 4 soundtrack
DDS2 soundtrack
Beethoven (All Eroica except the last movement, cause the last movement is terrible IMO, second and thrid movements from moonlight sonata, I like the first movement but I never listen to it when I'm doing something)
Muszorgsky (no staples here, whatever I'm in the mood for)
Chopin (same as Muszorgsky)

And as a giggle for anyone who happens to be in the room with me, the Earthworm Jim theme tune XD
