I believe you'll agree that the mission replay has been a success. However...
In a recent interview you gave what I took as evidence that you used requiring us to enter our ship's interior to get access to mission replay as your way of meeting a request for interior functionality. Even apart from the problem this causes when flying things such as shuttles that don't have an interior, it also makes what should be a simple UI menu task of selecting a mission to replay a time consuming effort.
Can you give us any assurance that future features won't require going to the ship interior when they could just as easily and sensibly be done from the UI menus?
[I fully understand requiring us to go to a communal area for things like banking, crafting, etc. But if you decide that player convenience outways the MMO experience of seeing other players in game, then I urge going all the way by making accessing these items truly convenient thru the UI.]
How is time measured in STO? The game starts in 2409 but will it always be that star date? When you do missions or get promoted, you can see the in-game star dates change but they don't really seem to have an effect on the galaxy as a whole. Do you plan to make an official announcement of some kind one day? Like say "The star date for STO is now 24XX."
With all the new melee weapons and the upgraded ground combat system, will we also see an extra weapon slot just for melee weapons?
Any chance of adding the TOS and TMP Connie to your schedule as a T-5 refit to be released sooner rather than later?
You stated last month that we will soon be able to build our own ship interiors through the foundry, does that also include adding functionality while we build or is it only how big and where to put the furniture?
What are the chanced of having a featured series take place in a holo-deck, with say Professor Moriarty, or perhaps just a cameo?
Has there been any consideration to elements of the game that many people consider 'broken'? We know that the STF's are under consideration at the minute, but the Crystalline entity has been subject to a number of gripes since beta - could we see this being retooled in the future, possibly as an STF or some such similar thinking?
On an STF note, much of the issues people seem to have with these episodes is that they require teaming, whereas much of the early game doesn't require it, has there been any thought to creating STF styled episodes at earlier levels to encourage players to 'think team' earlier on in the game as preparation for the endgame?
Related to the above, it was mentioned some time back but has any progress been made on cross faction teaming?
Can we see some different fleet actions rotated into the VA daily? It'd be nice to see more traffic on events such as the entity of despair and the undine front.
What can we expect in the way of endgame moving forwards? At the minute we have a lot of repeatable dailies and the STF's which are fun and all, but don't feel like a vast amount of content. With 'Into the Hive' being picked back up are we likely to see more endgame specific content in the near to mid distant future?
Any chance of some new kits coming up in the big ground update that is season 4?
Any chance we could get some sort of cannon ensign tactical skill for those of us who favour them over beams?
I'm also a little concerned about the Ferengi brothers out at Memory Alpha, they don't seem the sharpest tooth sharpener in the drawer if you get my meaning? Since Commander Romaine reorganised MA so that we don't need their admittedly shoddy merchandise they seem a little unprofitable there, any chance we'll see them move to pastures new sometime soon, or reorganise their inventory into something more profitable?
The fate of the Enterprise C has been talked about in the past as a possible weekly mission focus, but I wondered if we might at some point be able to investigate the fate of the NX-02 Columbia, all the art assets bar the bridge are already in game, it's soft canon that it ended up in the Gamma Quadrant but I suspect Cryptic could have some real fun in that, the NX Class is one of the most detailed ship models to date and it seems a shame it's not used anywhere. Any chance?
Regarding the C-Store - we often see packs of items coming out at the minute, a number of games (looking at LOTRO for example) offer the ability to earn their equivalent of Atari Tokens in game. Whilst i appreciate that's not on the cards for STO I did have another thought I wondered if we might see.
Taking for example the upcoming Open Jacket pack (probably in the past by the time this is published!) there are a number of options available in there, ten or twelve, would it be possible to offer one (selected by cryptic) as a reward in say a featured episode as an enticement to players to get the rest - this seems a win win, easy promotion (once the tech is in place) to encourage C-store sales, and something for nothing for players.
1) Will we start to see NPC designs on the Klingon Empire start to become playable? Ex: Gorn ships, Nausican ships. Will we eventually be able to play, say as a Gorn captain, we will never have to use a Klingon ship while leveling up?
2) Will there ever be sub-factions that may share content with their original main faction? Say the Gorn regain their independence and have their own space, but they still share a lot of similar content with the Klingons. Maybe even be at war with the Klingons as well as the Feds.
1: With the nerfing of the BTD, some people thought that although nerfing them WAS a good idea, you went a bit overkill on that. Will you ever make the BTD into something like a snowball-type weapon, or just only make it freeze one person at a time to reduce lag?
2: I have heard some rumors that the Multi-Vector Assault Mode Prometheus will soon be coming out. Can you give any advance details on what MVAM will be like?
3: In addition to the MVAM Prometheus, will there be any more fancy Escorts we can expect within the year 2011?
