I have spring break coming up and I think I just figured out how do do a mission kinda like the sky diving scene in 2009 Star Trek where you jump, go into free fall and get beamed out in mid air. Can't WAIT to try this out.

Heck yeah, I'm going to have to play that mission! How are you going to accomplish this?

It can be done by having an elevated platform(higher up on the y coordinate) and using a place marker to transition to the next map.

Example:

You have to jump off a platform(located at 500 on the y coordinate) and then free fall to the place marker (Lets say that is at the 250 on the y coordinate) and then the player hits the Open Parachute button (Change Map Dialog Box Button).

I was going to do something similar in my mission "Trials of Diplomacy" but I decided against it. I was worried I might get dinged on ratings if the player ended up not confirming the map change in time, and fell to their death.

You can't die due to falling. You always end up with 1 HP. Your BOs on the other hand, can die.

I had fun with this a few weeks ago. You should do it.

Don't Make Missions FOR Ratings.

Yup. This is part of it.

They add triggers that create/delete objects and you could even have the reduced gravity object appear AFTER you hit a waypoint. Might also work to have a mission where you NEED reduced gravity to jump up to a certain platform and have a console that you use to create the reduced gravity object.

I imagine you'll see plenty of people use this kind of event/transition to raise/lower walls like the Azura map but I bet reducing gravity to continue would be a different kind of application of the same mechanic that will set a mission apart.
