I've been a follower/not-always-fan of Cryptic Studios and Star Trek Online in particular for a couple years, having played in beta and in game since release. Not-always-fan because while I liked much about the experience I didn't always agree with design decisions nor process.
That said, I believe the developers have aged well, both learning their limits and often how to break through them to excellence. We players have improved (on the whole) as well in recognizing those limits and in not allowing the perfect to be enemy of the good. The outcome has been polish and depth that are welcome, enjoyable, immersive and (usually) without technical distraction.
Well done to the hands behind the curtain, and hopes for much more to come.
