Well that leaves just the other 100 crewmembers beeing orions and gorn and nausicans.... very helpfull. Ther ARE people actually visiting their interiors now and then.

Thank god nothing but shows and movies are considered canon, maybe one day CBS/Paramount will come back and do a post Nemesis movie and negate some of this extended universe stuff.
Well didnt I comment something like that already today? ah here it is:

That doesnt mean I like the fed-kling war. The Klingon-federation peace, starting in ST6, was for me one of the greatest moments in Star Trek history. Throwing that away simply for the benefit of having both fight each other somehow is something I coulndt hate more. The star trek universe has to offer more then enough enemys. And the Klingons were just more intresting as a little unpredictable allies then as enemys.

But in STO they are portrayed as nothing but dump space-orks, and I dont even want to start to talk again about what I thing about Ideas as retardet as a "orion-klingon"alliance....
( I hate to repeat myself^^)

It is not a melting pot so much as a war measure. There are not enough Klingons to fill mission requirements so you use what you got.
I would think though that what ever passes for Internal Security for the KDF is going nuts over all the 'outsiders' getting Command slots on starships.

Sounds like some good foundery ideas there. (I'll will be looking at that angle when foundery goes live)

I know I just came back after a long absence. And I do know they've made a couple of small improvements to interiors. But they are still very much a work in progress right?

Dedicated bridge officers (engineering? medical?) ... customizable crew look/uniform ... more functionality ... it's all still being worked on right?

So, I dunno, at the pace they put that stuff in the game (glacier like), compounded by the Klingon Content Variable (raise that time of release to the Nth degree where N equals a value of X as modified by Q squared by the number of posts Stormshade makes in a given week) ... and I'd say we should probably return to that topic sometime in the year 2025?

Well all these things they are "working" on are in work for a LONG while now, NOTHING has been done. The only change to the interiors that have been made was the addition of the mission replay. And customizable crew will, for sure, be limited to the uniforms, that doesnt adress the OPs melting-pot issue.
And the only "new" thing for interiors.... is a TOS interior... wich is, in my opinion an EPIC joke. Every t5 escort still flys arround with a souverign-class-style warpcore and unfitting giant hallways, but a c-store T1 gets fitting interior... but thats off topic.
So 2025... thats a reasonable time for improvment, yes^^

I understand the OP's concern. I am willing to put up with it for practical reasons. In order to enforce strict compliance with canon would make the Klingon faction less playable. That would be the wrong direction to go for the game.

From an RP stance I agree completely with the RP. Who knowds with the duty officer system and suggested changes to the 'cerw casualty' system maybe we will start to see more customisation of these features. On a very simple level the crew racial breakdown would be nice to both see and interract with. The idea that it gives modifications to ship performace might and should come later.

Even a simple 90% Klingon 5% Orion 5% otehr which was refelected in the guys walking about would be a starting point.
