If you are asking which specific programs to use, and how to go about the technical details of doing so, I'm afraid I cant help you. However, on a slightly different note I have noticed that some of the trailers some people make for their missions are too long and show off too much of the mission. The purpose of a trailer is to catch your interest and make you want to play, not to be a mini-movie of the mission itself. I would recommend a 30 sec trailer with something really interesting at the end

Is weegame worth buying?
Or Should I purchase Fraps?
Or IS there another way to get these at a better queality free?
Or do you recomend another product?

Wegame and Fraps are both free, I believe. I use capturewizpro for the tutorials, but it doesn't seem to capture the gameplay that well. However, I think my comp is the issue. Also check out RG's demo recorder thingy.
I agree about the mini-movies being lame... I should know... I've done a couple like that.. but at least they can be entertaining for me the author, as I don't think anyone watches my trailer/movies or plays my missions anyway... at least I have something fun and entertaining to watch.
Without a good editor I believe the options are limited. I'm a little short on $$$ and just have to get by with what I can get. I think the amount of information contained in the short trailers is by definition just a tease and can't really inform the viewer as to what the mission's about.
The lack of demo-record function in the foundry is also another very limiting factor and some authors are just running some stock footage from other missions. It sure would be nice if we could get the demo-record function in the foundry, but as usual it's not anything close to a priority for good reason.
The good trailers just seem to be nice titling and typical soundtracks and seem to be based on simple formulas with 2 or 3 second cut scenes and crouching/stalking player characters for dramatic effect. While these seem to definitely be popular, I personally find crouching and moving slowly around and using a sniper rifle to be amateur, silly and lame. but that is my personal opinion.
I myself like to see more of a mission, since I like difficult combat and large epic battles. I don't care about spoilers and showing too much of a mission because the real thing has all the dialogue and bells and whistles. It's not like we are going to know exactly what happens from a trailer or a mini-movie.
I guess I just despise marketing and the pandering required to sell something to people that I really don't care about and that's my personal problem. I could care less about a popularity contest and instead hope that by participating in the Foundry and the StarbaseUGC community I'll get some good opinions on how to improve my mission creation & story writing.
I think trailers are great. Keep them coming. Don't be afraid to make whatever it is that YOU LIKE, but remember the worst movies in the world can have great Trailers. You need to get everything right. When your mission starts to get some attention it will get ripped apart by critics just like everything else around here does. That is part of the creative process. The good news is that our creations can be revised and edited to fix errors and whatever else an author feels like changing and that is the strength of this Genre.
