I have really been wanting a custom color option for ships which grants full hull color options.
Also if it is possible to alter beams and effects for a theme or personal preference?

Maybe some custom color accent lights on ships a captain can add?

Just a few requests.

I remember in beta there was a bug which allowed colour changes.(beems and effects)
However it was removed due to CBS concerns if i remember corectly.
Also it caused outrage amoung the general comunity so i do not expect to see this happen

Maybe have it on to see custom colors and with it off it is all classic themes?

Yeah, sorry to disappoint, but captainjkirk is right. The bug was squashed by CBS. It would certainly be cool, but not gonna happen. Maybe they would allow some sort of client side toggle? So that you can change how it looks for yourself, but everyone else sees default colors. Probably not gonna happen though.

I think this feature would only further the lack of immersion in the game. Phasers are supposed to be orange and red, end of story.

Edit: And if you allowed this, how would players in PVP know what weapon their enemy is firing and prepare an adequate response without trying to read combat logs while five ships are firing on you at will?

Yeah too many PvP players raged about it during beta, they didn't know which weapon type to counter.

No thank you. Personally, I do not want to see pink starships flying about the galaxy.

eh, my 2 cents are:

Allow some energy weapons to have different color options, provided they stay within canon.

For instance phasers. Red and blue as TOS colors. Red/orange for TNG and on. And Yellow as Cardasian Phasers are that color. I know there were a couple of TOS episodes that had green and purple, but I really think that was a technical/budget issue of the time.
