Do you know why the biggest complainers use the spam?

Because it's there to use. Not only that, but to remain competitive spam has become so ubiquitous that you pretty much need it to counter the other team's spam.

Current spam, ruins DHC use, as well as in many cases the use of Dual beam banks, and torps. That's a -ton- of Dps mitigation equal to or better than SNB. Short of out and out killing the guy. (which also becomes much easier due to them having a Negative Defense Score courtesy of Chrono and Tractor mines)

So at that point, you need spam to stay alive and be able to hopefully deal damage in return.

From a realistic point of view the mines in this game make zero sense as they aren't actually powerful enough to even damage a ship. They are just there to unleash a chrono proc, or a tractor beam onto a target. It ruins this games already questionable targeting interface, and it ruins several weapon choices.

Siphon drones are actually quite good if there's no gravity wells around; the combination of siphon plus subsystem targeting can be murderous. They're just...kinda fragile.

the scorpion fighters, as implemented, were a big mistake imo. I'd put them at like, 6 fighters on a 10 minute cooldown, a fighter version of fleet support kinda.

I don't see how spam ruins DHCs, DBBs, or torps tho. :p

ZOMG, that is me in OPvP chat in the pic

That is such a familiar sight....good to see we aren't the only ones to get it that crowded.

I have, I used them to target hostile aircraft when i was An Air Defense Artilleryman in the Army. They filter out the noise. we didn't shoot off missiles at birds.
I would imagine in the future the filter mechanisms would be better, not worse.

I lol'd at the thought of the Army launching a SAM at a pigeon.

They shot down a bird at Balad with a C-RAM once.

I worked with a guy who was there when they first turned it on, it immediately woke up, spun around and BBBRRRRRRRRRRR, POOF!

.....feathers:p

All of these images were taken during a single FvK Cap N Hold. Case in point: In the third picture, there's already a large amount of clutter on the screen. But if you look towards the bottom right on the image (slightly above my power tray, directly above the Vanguard Battleship marker) you'll see that there are a further seventeen enemies ~3KM away, right off screen.

Just to be clear, I'm in no way bitter about be dead in some of those pictures. :p I just wanted to give an actual in-game example of the chaos that can be caused in a simple 5v5 CnH to put credit to all of the complaints we've had.
I can clean that right up for ya, drop a grav well, some EWP here, and some CSV there do the jig and let your friendly escorts go to work. They should call me the Spam maid.

On a real note, have an option to add another tab but for switch target players in bind menu would be alot better than all of season 3

Uh yeah I forgot the hack that makes gravity well clear a whole map, EWP that runs continously, oh and an indefinite CSV.

I will go option by option for you so you can keep up.

1) GW has a cooldown that is longer then most mine launchers so the 10-15 you take out that many will replace during cooldown.

2)EWP unless escort are equipping it no one has the maneuverability to encompass a whole minefield, escorts can only equip a LT version so duration is going to be short.

3) CSV awesome as long as you are looking at the mines and there is nothing else in the area. I guess most escorts will rely on this since most cruisers and Sci ships run beams.

4) you will be removing 25% of the damage if not more from combat more if escorts have to trash removal also

5) All these sklils have cooldowns so when you hit cooldowns tada the mines will be back to pre-cleared levels again. Brilliant
