Suggestion:

An area on a PvP map that is a "Mutara" type nebula.

Concept:

Shields and sensors (mini-map) would be disabled.
Viewscreen would have random static blips. (whole screen goes 'staticy" from time to time)
Vessels inside the nebula would also be undetectable by vessels outside the nebula.

Comments and suggestions are welcome.

Thank you.

with the nebula effect from cloaked intentions, a pvp map would be fun. no shields in the whole thing though? i dont know... maybe sections disable shields, and anyone not in those sections cant see inside them so they would be good hidding places, or the last place you want to get jumped. maybe a max sensor range of 15, no map functionality, and other random hazzards like plasma clouds that dont disipate or something.

make the que for these maps the Mutara Nebula its self, as in you have to fly up to it in sector space. its in that borg overrun sector block, so it exists in game. i dont think i want to randomly be put in that map if i dont want to be there, so the que for playing in it only being there is best i think.

hmm, but what about those who arnt admirals... maybe varients of this idea for the brier patch and badland too, well klingons still dont have access to those sector blocks. better just add a new section to the drop down que. nebula arena or something.

I like the idea itself, but u have to think about pvp balance all the time.

In a map without shields - escorts would be way overpowered

No shields all the time is probably a bad idea.

But a PvP map with objectives that force you to into Micro-Nebulas (maybe a King of the Hill type of map, or a new Capture & Hold?) could be wonderful.

Yes, a nebula (small) inside a pvp map still sounds cool.
I'm glad somebody brought this idea up again.

how about this-

-whole nebula obscures sensers

-there are pokets of shield disabling clouds, and you cant see into them

-there are clouds of warp plasma that do not disipate

- there are gravity wells and tykerns rifts scatered about that every 5 seconds get really strong and then get really weak so you can escape

- those clouds of gas from the briar patch

nice ideas. u could make at least one pvp map for each point u mentioned.
I think to much "specials" in one map would annoy people too.

ya, thats why this map should be on a seperate que lol. you have to want to be in a map like that, getting it randomly as part of the standard rotation when you dont want it would suck.

You forgot a couple things:

- Big map and mini-map go black in nebula (implied by disabled sensors, I guess)

- Pets and spam disabled (cause gravity and radiation anomalies would destroy them)

- Cloak disabled

Sounds like it would be visual targeting range only; so you could only see and fire on things within 10km.
