Thanks. I've usually kept a copy of it on cruisers just to have a shield heal of some sort. Might have to look at giving it more priority.
It's still not really a heal, it's a resistance buff. I'd use it together with a shield heal if the enemy is hurting there. (Transfer Shield Strength is probably best)

Only I can do that = ), Dkyr love thats what its called, and its more like, 2xtact + 2xTSS2/3 + 2 extend shield2 ( can be deployed at the same time) + 2 x HE + more= Escorts BFF. Now thats a heal build.

ps if your ever SS, and your dum noob escort starts to run, tractor him and buff him up it so funn to do on a pug and SS so common these days. One round of buffs will protect any ship from a 5 team fcous fire, most of the time.

Yeah, thats why Heals in the game are too good now.

All you need is a decent support ship teamed with an Escort and presto. Even another escort fills that role nicely. So now unless you are a really bad PvPer, you don't want to end up in anything that isn't 1 on 1.

ES improves regeneration a bit too. I've mostly been hanging onto it because it's on a completely different system than any other heal. I'd definitely *rather* use TSS, and I usually carry that on my non-healing specs, but I generally focus on HE for hull heals. My general feeling is that self-healing shields is easier than self-healing hull, so I kind of count on people tending to their own shields. I generally think of ES as kind of a shield heal because other than that all I usually have is ST 1.

The new Tactical Team is pretty sweet. The general problem with the "team" abilities is that while they are pretty big heals, they are useless as a proactive defense. Tac Team seems pretty good when used preemptively, and the team cooldown is short enough that ET and ST are usually available by the time I need them. Tac Team is starting to be the first thing I drop on people.

It actually kind of makes me wonder about healing in an Assault Cruiser. I used to do that back when 2xET III was the only heal you really needed.

Of course I'm the last person to say it since I can't tank in my Sovereign anymore, but most do go with SIF3 as a main heal. Some mix that with ET or HE.

I usually flew a Star Cruiser Healer build, but I am ultimately not a fan of the Star Cruiser designs. With the new Tactical Team, I "dared" moving to an Assault Cruiser for a healing purpose. I don't find I use Tactical Team all that often. Biggest problem for me is that I want all the 3 team skills and there are 3 science powers I'd rather have. Still, I'll probably keep on it for now, since my original reason - AC looks better then SC - still stands. :p

Tactical Team in concert with TSS2 makes for happy Escort buddies.

Further, I have found that this combination also permits me to use XSh on another Escort, allowing me to keep a pair of Escorts heavily supported.

Faithborn's guide is still the definitive benchmark, but with so many alterations through the past year, this thread makes me think that a new look at Healing (in a guide format) might be just the kind of project that would be fun to keep me occupied at work for a few nights...

Xsh... What could that stand for? A! Extend Shields? I think ES is the standard acrynom for that.

That'd be the one, blame it on one of my Fleetmates who, in early STO days, used Energy Siphon (No, we didn't know why, either... ) and we got used to using the ES abbreviation for that... Extend Shields then got the 'next best thing' by default for us, becoming either XS or XSh, just to avoid confusion.
