Shiny. It's an NCC 1701-A for the 25th century! Looks gorgeous!
One sentence from the writeup stood out really big for me, though:
Quote:
In combat, the Excalibur's Class VIII warp core is large enough to allow it to transfer power to damaged ships or extend its shields to protect an ally without impacting its own defenses or systems.
Transferring power to another ship? I don't remember ever seeing that in Star Trek. But I do remember seeing it in World of ********, where it was known as "healing". I really thought Cryptic was going to try harder than that to break out of the old MMO archetypes.

Power transfer was in at least one TNG episode and probably more. You have to have some support options or the game just becomes "who has more of the biggest ships with the most weapons?"
wait this was commmissioned in 2391 with a registy of 94547 yet in 2409 there is a new ship with a registy of 91001. is it because of the prefix off ncc and nx?
maybe the nx 91001 used to be a soveriegn that got such heavy refits that they turned the ship into new or something but kept its old registry numbers.

Ship to ship power transfers have been in Star Trek THOUGH as far as I know it's always been with both ships basically completely stopped and/or with shields down.
This is 30 years later. They can have something fancier.
could you guys post multiple shots of the Ships-of-the-Line. I am thinking the standard 5-6 shot package (Dorsal, Ventral, Fore, Aft, Port, Starboard) would be pretty kool to have. Dont get me wrong i love the fact we are getting anything at all, but all it does is wet my appitite.
