Hi,

I'm hoping for some hints here. Game runs great except for the fact that it crashes about 5 minutes in on the first mission after the tutorial stuff. The stranded ship mission. It crashes on the away team portion. I cannot complete the mission because the client will CTD before I can get all the way through.

Here is what Windows 7 (fully updated) shows:

I run the game on max settings with no fps problems. I did the /maxfps 60. I have a ATI HD 5770 I think. Everything is updated as far as I can tell. I play a bunch of other games including Rift. No crashing there.

I suppose I could try turning down the graphics settings, but that would make me a sad panda.

Any help deciphering the error stuff above would be appreciated.

Thanks!

post your dxdiag report to be sure. ATI cards does have problems with dynamic lighting in this game on away missions. you can try turning it off or some(not everyone) have been able to keep dynaminc on by reducing the number of lights sources in the graphics setting.

Thanks for the reply. I think it may be the dynamic lighting like you said. I just went to default graphics settings (The third notch instead of all the way to the right) and I have not crashed yet. So some setting in there is causing it... it will probbaly take me some time to find it, but I will start with adjusting the lighting.

Thanks a bunch.

Try lowering your max lights per object to 2 or 0 under Advanced Video Settings.

like they said: Dynamic lighting and post=processing effects on ATI cards are known to cause crashes in ground missions. It's being investigated by ATi.
