So way back when I was a noob in this game, I used to think that KvK PVP, and "house wars" were a cool concept. It never really happened. For a lot of reasons.

Now I'm thinking that some really interesting house war storylines can be done with the foundry.

Anyone else thinking the same?

Well you can try, but it will be a chore. Foundry doesn't support fighting friendly factions or making them hostile.

You'd have to pick a different enemy group and individually change their costumes to look Klingon. I'm not even sure if that works in space.

And they will still fight like their original group. So if you reskinned Romulans as Klingons, you'd have them dropping Thalaron mines, and cloaking tractor mines, for example.

You can't have the KDF fighting their distinctive Swordmasters and Targ Handlers, currently.

Damnable targ droppings.
I was really hoping a House hierarchy and system of competion among them was possible.

I just made a mission where kdf fights a load of nausicans and a few gorn.

On ground its doable as stated above, pick enemy faction and change fostume to nausican, etc and profit. They are feds reskinned to nausicans so they use phasers ane the like since there's hardly any universal enemy that uses disruptors aide from romulans and I didn't want it going down that route.

In space this can be done as well...but its very messy.

Same concept applies however the names will unfortunately stay the same so there are miranda class frigates running around disguised as nausican fighters and escorts that attck the kdf player, etc.

Its a messy way but so far the only way.

How DO you reskin enemies?

I've been trying so hard to figure out.

via costumes, one tip i can give you, use hirogens as the base enemy for reskining.

Sure,

go to NPC Groups tab

Filter by Enemy

type in Hiro, this should bring up all Hirogen stuff

select the group for the appropriate difficulty that you want that group to be, ensigns only is fairly easy, captain 3 is most difficult.

Place the group wherever you want them.

Now zoom in and select the individual red dots around the group, when you do it will say ACTOR # 3, at the bottom tab of the screen,.

click on change costume. filter for whatever costume you want, like nausican_ens_soldier, etc.

done, that actor is how wearing a nausican costume while maintaining the attack profile of a hirogen.

this means that he will attack with hirogen tetryon weapons, have hirgen like names (alpha, beta, etc) but will look like a Nausican.

So there is no option for picking alien and assigning unique skin and skill set? Also, can the NPC be set to be neutral and change to hostile based upon player action?

PS Sorry for derail, but figured they might know.

They have almost as much KvK pvp as they have Klingon Vs fed, they have a klingon vs klingon version of kerrat, a mirror for each of those klingon vs fed zones, they might not be particularly active like the other zones, but the exist.

But, making it so that klingons can fight klingons in the foundry would be nice.

P.S. they arent popular, because then everybody has a cloaking device, and everyone having a cloak makes for annoying battles, and I think you should know why.
