# 1 Working elevator with triggers
04-02-2011, 07:21 PM
- Create a ground map
- Place a 1st Colony building tower 01, move it to Y: -27.5, name it to position_down
- Place a 2nd Colony building tower 01, move it to Y: -10, name it to position_up
- Add trigger to position_up: Hidden -> Component complete position_down -> Visible

Jump inside the circle, interact and you will be elevated 17.5m higher.

You can add more stations by placing and chaining more towers. Works with wall columns, too.

Interesting but it sounds pretty abrupt. Is it convincing at all?

Could we do this with a corridor that jumps to a different level?

It uses the Foundry safeguard against locking the player inside an appearing object. Problems are
- The safeguard is a hit and miss with thin objects, like pillars. That tower is the slimest thing with consistent results.
- Doesn't work if you would somehow end up in a solid object during or after the trip upward.
- The tower is too high for internal maps and you can move it downward due to -Y limits. May work with lamps thou.

As with all triggers, it is one trip only.
