Thank you all for the replies!

I'll drop BO 1 for Tac Team 1, and will experiment with the Beta and Delta attack patterns to see which suits my play style better. The only reason I avoided Tac Team was that I would be running both Eng and Sci Teams as well - thought there'd be too many team-reliant abilities. However since Tac Team boosts energy weapons training, I guess its a little extra damage to add to an attack.

Will stick with beam consoles, easier to get hold of for cheaper. I knew about which consoles to use when (i.e. depending on if you run beams / cannons or both), but wasn't sure if there may have been a slight advantage to using the AP Regulators. As I said, could have missed something, but evidently not!

Glad to see people are suggesting the beams I was planning to use! I'll keep an eye out for any beam arrays with the [Acc] x2 or [CrtH]x2 modifier if any appear on the exchange.

I have this exact build on my Tactical, which is why it is shelved at the moment.

If you are levelling quickly and looking to PvP at 51 soon, why not run 2x FAW just like every cruiser in the game right now?

On a serious note, Beam overload 3 seems to me, to be far less effective since the advent of Borg/Aegis sets and also since the Transfer shield strength (original) buff.

Also it misses. A lot.

Investing into a Beam Array [Acc]x2 or x3 is a good idea.

Yes I do agree it does miss more then I wish it did.....but I found using a DBB with Accx2 (like Mustrum proposed) combined with a max bonus accuracy and being within 5km when firing it greatly cuts down on the amount of misses.

Don't use arrays for BO3, use DBB.

I think you can grant me the benefit of the doubt when I say I have tried all modifiers including [Accx2], and they miss - a lot.

Yeah, of course, Dual Beam Banks, my bad.

But you are also correct - you still end up missing often. If there was only some kind of device or weapon that you could deploy to hold your enemy endlessly, life could be so much easier...

And I thought it was just me And yes, my tac has the accurate trait.

My BO3 seems to miss more often than not against other escorts. The only thing I can hit with any reliability is cruisers or slower, which is a waste since they can handle it better. The miss ratio has taken a massive boost lately, no doubt as you allude thanks in part to the aegis set amongst other factors.

As such I have already switched my DBB to an accx2 although tbh the defense value still seems too high ;-)

nerf defense! lol.

That was in jest, but honeslty, if [acc] becomes the most common modifier, there is evidently an issue that needs redress.

On a more serious note, I have found that any build that I'm running BO3 with needs to have Tractor Beam to maximize its effectiveness.

Interestingly, since getting to see 'behind the mechanics' in one of the recent episodes of STOked, the value of Accuracy has increased significantly, at least in most of my calculations, and the Accurate Trait for Captains, even more so.
