BFaW team counters require 2-3 times more team work than the fractured PvP community can muster. In most cases everyone is Pugging 7 out of 10 matches or partially pugging. BFaW requires little to no teamwork. I thoughtless monkey build should not have the power to destroy the one thing in this game that cryptic says is team based.

The counter to one skill should not need 5 skills from 5 ships to perform. But Steve let me ask you this, what are escorts supposed do they cannot equip the high level counters you mention.

Escorts - all can equip AF1, all can equip SS1 except MVAM AE with LTC Sci which can equip SS2 anything short of SS3 is a crap shoot, ES1 for escorts, JS1 and 2 only affect one target.

Where is anyone talking about enforcing rules? Someone is just trying to assemble a list of frowned upon abilities (or rather, abiltiies not frowned upon), based on community feedback. No one has any means of enforcing you to use only the "approved" powers.

Here is an example:
Scramble Sensors. Counter: Self Target and use Science Team. Can fail to work and instead apply Science Team to another team.
BFAW: This power may or may not be countered, but an Ensign skill that doubles your damage output for 75 % of the time? Name me a comparable skill.

lol @ white list,

I can see how intentions may be in the right place, but the execution is loleriffic & I am filled for gratitude for the comedic contributions of this thread in general.

The President's right in the sense that within the dynamics and variables of space combat, there are other options than to throw whine&cheese parties. With some thought, communication, and a concerted effort of a team, these dynamics can be more fully understood.

I hope that what ever skills need to be fixed (or re-fixed) will be done so promptly so that we may develop a properly attuned awareness of these variables.

I respect everyone's opinions, that is one of the guiding princaples that my gaming community is founded on. I don't force my opinions or decisions on ANYONE, you are trying to do that to us here by leaving a PvP match if you see one of us use a skill YOU do not like. A) Look back to the first few posts.
B) By making people leave a match if they see a skill being used that's on your so-called "Ban List" you force us to abide by YOUR rules.

I believe in fair play, and honor and all that other jargon, but i also believe that people have the right to play however the heck they like, despite how you and your so called "Elite Group" feel on the matter. "Elite"? and you think that earns you immediate respect? Hell...Steve Angelis has known me for years, and the games we played before STO were a damn sight harder and required a LOT more skill than this one. Go back to your WoW...because you're evidently not Trekkies, if you were you'd realise just how lucky you were to finally have a game to play ST on, and quit whining about it and ruining it for everyone else.

Leave the Devs alone, Get back to stroking you're ego's and drop this whole "elite" charade, because none of us are buying it anymore.

I think this thread is kind of cute. There are things that need to be changed but I don't particularly care to see people leaving or giving up all of the time. One day it would be nice to see some kind of penalty for leaving a game. I'm still here to play, regardless of what others are using, mostly because I like the pretty flashy colors.

I also respect people's opinions, even when they disagree with my own, which is why I hope that no one will be too terribly offended when I say that I voted for the other guy.

I hope you don't feel threatened by me saying you there are consequences for all types of actions. Don't hesitate being nice or fair.

But I am saying that there are consequences. If enough people think that certain abiltiies are broken and abusive, you should not be surprised if they get disappointed or angry when they encounter them used and abused in the game, and react. Be it by throwing a hissy fit, making snarky remarks, leaving the match, or deciding to unsubscribe, leading to slow and empty PvP Queues or otherwise unsastifying PvP experience for everyone.

This is personally my greatest worry. PvP is barely supported these days, and people are getting tired by the repitition and lack of support. The only thing that brings excitement is of a negative nature - broken abilities. I don't want to see people leave over that, but I have already seen it happen. That is sad. I am not a lifetime subscriber to be fighting only with Roach and EmoJoe... (As much as I respect and like these guys.)

Everyone is free to leave the game however he sees fit. There is apparantly nothing in the game mechanics against it. (Though there used to be.)

I wouldn't do it, barring special circumstances (and BFAW wouldn't be it, more like stuf "OOps, where is the rest of my team, okay, this is just a CapnHold, they can dal with my loss)

But there have and always will be people that decide to forfeit matches for whatever reasons.

Elite are the guys that consistently win PvP matches, including the tournaments. I am certainly not one of them.

I just call myself experienced PvPer - which isn't the same thing as good. I've just... experienced a lot. :p
