Yes, we will work on the elements of FAW, but the skill actually involves a lot of digging into the system and there are many ways to accidentally break it. CapnGeko is aware that there are problems but his time is currently booked up with making sure that the new ground combat system is totally solid for season 4. We haven't forgotten about the issue, but it's one that is not as simple as just changing one number in one data element -- updating FAW would actually involve changes to . . . as a quick estimate . . . a little over 4000 data structures. This unfortunately means we also can't rely on just implementing a quick fix with a more detailed tweak later; any adjustments would have to be rather involved. It will get done, it's just not something that can be done overnight!
We now have concrete evidence that FAW is over 4000, but it is not over 9000 in terms of OPness.
So long as FAW with Disruptors sounds like you're using Disruptors.. and Polaron like Polaron.. instead of everything like phasers.. T_T My wee gorn cannae take the puny pew pew.

Are efforts being made to reduce the complexity when making changes? For example, if it's doing X% more damage, why not design the system so that you can just change X rather than have to alter a huge number of data structures.
I wanted to ask that question, but then I remembered that I'm barely qualified to set my VCR (lolvideocassettes). I wonder why it has to be so complicated...
i'd suggest removing bfaw untill it can be fixed because right now its a pvp game breaking mechanic and honestly thats a HUGE problem with a game that has almost nothing else to do at max lvl.

Plain removing it could be just as big an issue as fixing it. Who knows what will happen when someone hits the delete button and code for other aspects of the game goes too by mistake. Ill live with a borked ability if it will spare us from other game changing issues by removing it.

hmm yes but if it involved a ship or uniform for the c-store , or if you had half the RP community up in arms
it would have been fixed inside a few days.
the KDF & pvp players have been like 2nd class in this game for a long time.

4000 Data Structures? Well that is quite a large amount of work.
No offense, but I find it ironic that the Dev Team is quick to nerf Efficient Impulse Engines in citing them to be Overpowered, and yet Beam Fire at Will is unquestionably Overpowered in both PvP and PvE, and it's on a lower priority than that and Season 4.
This news along with the lastest Ask Cryptic, really does not send a positive message to the PvP community. Many of the best PvPers have left and few remain. At this rate you might as well close up PvP its going to be ignored.

Agreed, in the last Ask cryptic a fleetmate asked a question about changes to space PvP. Somehow, (and i think on purpose) the question was ignored and thrown into a general pvp answer that was focused on ground PvP and the new ground changes. In no way did it answer the question about space pvp which is what more people play.
