I am pretty new to STO - so my ideas which I am going to post here might have already appeared in this forum. I used the search but at first look I could not find a post related to my ideas. I hope nothing of this is already in the game (and/or I just simply did not discover it, yet? - you never know :-) )
So, this is what I would believe could improve the overall Star Trek feeling for this truly amazing game.
-enable the player manually to set alert conditions for your own ship. red/yellow/green. sense for it could be discussed. maybe related to systems powers?
- add a shuttle hangar to each ship, which allows you to walk to that hangar and really choose and start a shuttle from your own ship. (like walking on your own bridge). docking and undocking with this shuttle to and from your own ship should be possible. (i have seen this idea in the forums already, but it's sooo cool I need to repost it here)
-self-destruct sequence of your ship which deals some additional damage to enemy ships around your vessel? sensors of enemy ships will indicate the SDS of your ship - what makes them go to distance. Of course you are respawned after that and could continue using this strategy - there should be a mechanism in place to avoid players of using this method.
--> into the same direction: ejecting warp core do deal some extra damage to targets around! But then where to buy and get a new one without warp?
- enable use of evacuation pods on the Starfleet's vessels. in combination with self destruct sequence it would be really cool to see a ship being evacuated before it blasts!
