# 1 Far From Home (KDF Only)
05-01-2011, 10:55 PM
My first foundry mission for the KDF is titled Far From Home, it is now published and ready to review. This is the description.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Far From Home

The Empire is in dire need of new resources to fuel their war machine. Breach the ion barrier and enter uncharted space, rich with unknown civilizations, and intrigue.

You will decide the fate of three worlds, only one may be allowed dominance under the flag of the Klingon Empire. Ultimately you must lay claim to their resources at any cost for the glory of QonoS.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Throw me some feedback!

Are there any level restrictions on it?

"Far From Home" is now fixed and ready for review. The mission is designed as a Klingon diplomatic mission to a system previously untouched by the KDF. You meet with three species and manipulate / fight your way to a conclusion that brings the people under the rulership of the KDF.

There are multiple dialogue trees to take depending if you actually care about the people, or just want to bully them around and get to the action. Please everyone go try it!

There is only one spot in the episode im worried about its the 4th map in where the player runs around the observation ring. The contact on the lower level I have had issues with disappearing for no good reason. I removed a reach marker with a popup, and the NPC mobs on lower level and it seemed to have fixed the problem. Let me know if anybody has any issues.

And I notice a few comments about whether or not some of the actions the player must take in my mission are "honorable". I ask you to consider General Chang, he was willing to allow his chancellor to be assassinated, fire on his own flagship to perpetuate war between the Klingon Empire and the Federation. Does that make General Chang dishonorable if he truly felt peace would do more harm than good?

Far From Home explores that gray area,...because of how the foundry is designed the dialogue tree can branch and give choices but the overall objectives are linear . I worked hard to try and overcome some of that with this mission.

The Federation would have nothing of the methods used for this mission, that is part of what I think makes it fun and unique to the Klingon story arch.
