# 1 The Foundry - My view

the foundry is a great tool. with a few adjustments to this i think we could make it even better.

My first look

I returned to STO because i wanted to start playing again but also to try the foundry. When i first had a look a found it a little challanging to get to the grip of using this mission creator. After a look through the features i had a look on youtube for a tutorial but once you get the idea of using it i think its great.

Suggestions to add

Roaming Characters

I was wanting to make a busy atmosphere for one of my missions to make it seem crouded but i wanted the characters to walk to one point and back. I was thinking of a waypoint system. For this you could set as many or as little positions as you would like.

Set A at the entrance.
Set B at a panel
Set C at the other side of the interior
And a repeat option as well as a Back Track option

Character Sizes

Well you can make costumes. Captain Jainway on my STO mission is looking a little short...
Maybe a way to adjust that or even better, Import the STO Character Creator from the holodeck.

Object Size

Imagine this, Your a shuttle, just left ESD. on your way to join the crew of the U.S.S Foundry (Enterprise D)
Dum dum - You arive at the ship
Yourself thinking: Eh its a little smaller. Infact its nearly the same size as me!

You get my point?
A simple size bar to adjust the size of the object, A bit like the character size

Sorry if these things are already on the foundry and i haven't seen them, Feel free to add a reply of things you would like to suggest

Interesting suggestions. A waypoint system would be nice. We do have the ability to make npcs wander.

A waypoint system would be an excellent addition, especially if you could set "visibility" states for it ... i.e. be able to make it begin and / or end under certain conditions, like a an objects visibility.

Waypoints are must-haves. There's no way that a Foundry author can duplicate any of the PvE escort type missions, as there's no way to tell an escorted ship where the heck it's supposed to go.

A "follow" behavior would be nice to have, too.
