That's the short version, everything that follows is just a bit a QQ with a side of venting. I will admit that I get mouthy at times. I like to call people out when they do silly things like /logoff in combat, or sit still in their Cruiser/Carrier complaining about some BoP/Escort running circles around them. When a player pops, someone always feels the need to remind me of just how awful I am and how much help I needed to do whatever it is I did. There are people out there who obviously want the attention, whether it's because they like being a punk or they think taunting is just the only way to tank, and somehow or another I manage to join their trollish ranks without even a word. I've been frustrated enough to cuss one person in /zone and, later, felt bad enough about it to hunt them down and apologize.

Sometimes it feels like I should start rubbing it in. I'm going to be taken the wrong way regardless, I might as well just accept it and start trolling away, right? To be clear, I "/zone RAMMING SPEED" because I'm corny and I "/zone Thanks all" because I enjoy playing and want to be sportsmanlike. I'm fine taking a lot of crap. I can post it on the forums, get a good laugh and move on, but I really would feel bad if someone honestly felt like I was out to harass or ruin their fun.

I look forward to running into, or up against, a lot of you guys and I think most of you understand all of this already. I realize STO is just a game and I understand that you shouldn't take things too seriously. It's just that, I'm not here to have a negative impact on anyone's experience and if anything I've done has come across that way I can assure you it wasn't intended.
Wow, I don't know what must have happened to make you feel bad enough for this, but I concur with all of the above posters, and agree that you are one of the most sportsmanlike and respectful people in all of STO...

If someone has wrongfully accused you (or given the impression) of ruining their fun, I would have to wonder at the context, because you have always been someone that enjoys the game, not at others' expense, but simply for the sake of the game.

For all the good-natured ribbing that is directed your way, I don't believe any of it is meant in a hostile way, and shame on anyone that would target (pun intended ) you specifically for negative comments and treatment.

For crying out loud, don't these people know you're famous?! Who else in STO has keybinds written just in their honor?! (/target Hale FTW )

In any case, you have the support of the PvP Community, so don't let people and their 'opinions' bring you down.

Always remember, in PvP, if you make people cry, you're doing it right.

Also being accused of hax is the highest form of compliment.

I dont like smack talk, as I think that is a major contributing factor in the perception of PvP as being an elitist culture.

However, I must admit that I'm just as guilty as anyone else If someone REALLY winds me up I just can't hold my tongue. Its a failing, I know.

tl;dr - No worries

Steve, I think seeing as most of us know each other to a certain extent, it is fair to say that you are generally regarded as one of, if not the most sporting fella in PvP.

I try not to be too 'smack talky' but my halo is slipping recently, with all the folk leaving matches against my fleets, calling some of us cheats etc...

So I guess sometimes, some of us need to take a deep breath and ask one question - WWHD?

So it's not about him. But I think Wishy has it somewhat wrong in her post about smack talk. If it violates the rules on the forums, it should violate the rules in the game. And while I have no idea whether Hale ever violates those rules in game (I'm willing to take the positive views on him from other posters that he does not), I think pvp has a culture that drives a lot of people away from their playstyle. I've heard a lot of protests to the contrary, but I've seen enough junior high school level trash talk and insults to put approximately 50 people on ignore in Ker'rat alone. Some people thrive on such talk and they stick with pvp. But considering the population playing pvp now compared to the population of the game as a whole, I posit that most do not like such a culture and environment. Sometimes pvp'ers are pvp's worst enemy.
