What if things like skill points, and secondarily consoles that provided a boost, had a bigger impact on the effects of these skills. Look at Tractor Beam for example. It does what it needs to do whether it's at 0 or 9. What if there was a much bigger cost/benefit thing going on here?

I just knew this was going to pop up. You ran against me and some of my fleetmates today. Mind you, most of us don't play together all the time. This was real rare to even have 5 science together. We did not discuss that we were going to be 5 science. It just happened that way. We were not all using the breen parts either.

Sci teams usually have lower raw dps compared to integrated teams. Breen power drain and enerygy syphon share cooldowns. Breen power drain means they're running the full breen set (no aegis defensive/AP bonuses etc). Sub nuke has 90 degree arc. Tbo not experienced w/tykans rift. But not sure why you don't try changing your tactic from engine battery and run to something like evasive -> different tactical position, pop sci team, pop weapons||shields battery and EPtX and fight. (Note: I'm assuming no FaW spam, if that's the case you've got other problems).

I messed around a little w/energy syphon and breen set w/a BoP, and tbo the increased power levels didn't offset the defensive and offensive boosts from aegis/borg hybrid.

Was sci spam buffed without my knowledge? I thought it had always been there...

IIRC, it's been nerfed far more than it's been buffed since game launch.

If people are coordinating sci spam - good for them. I don't see how it's worse than lawltank cruisers cross-healing each other to invincibility or escorts timing an instagib focus alpha strike. The sci annoyance factor makes it seem more effective than it really is (although props to scramble sensors for making in to the FOTM lamechain).

That being said, I never run any of my ships without at least one sci team

I'm going to go a step further than you and say the only thing needed in pve is spacebar spam. FAW or CSV to take care of three frigates, but anything else just requires spacebar.

^ What's highlighted in red is the real OP factor, which most people either new to pvp or are Alexander Rozhenko clones don't quite grasp yet.

Cryptic, Instead of another nerf which is wrong to begin with. Set it up so players can respec the alts for the current PVP strategies. Nerfing everything is just ruining the game for everyone else. No matter what there will be a few members that will complain about everything. Please just charge them like 50,000 ec's and let them respec. Leave the rest of the game mechanics alone.

Have you posted in the White List thread? What kind of team is allowed to win 15-0 against you?

Actually, skill and experience trumps spam in most fights where the coordination of the teams is comparable (i.e. premade vs premade or pug vs pug).
