right, only the cmdr and lt cmdr bo slots (so seven powers for each ship) would be used. captain powers are still usable along with any item powers/device slots you may have.

and i know some poeople are better at using some specific ships with specific skills then others but thats not the point of this idea, the point of this idea is everyone has the same skills (in their respective ships class) so it will be "balanced" powers wise. tribble seems like this is the way to go with this so now its just a matter of picking popwers that will not be too specialized but stay themed to what the ship is supposed to do.

i see it this way, cruisers- dps and hull healing (extend shields being the only excetption)
sci- shield healing and crowd control
tact- burst and sustainted dps

if i can get at least 8 people who would be confirmed to try this out on tribble ill begin looking into what powers for each ship would be best.

You would also have to put restictions on captain professions. A 5 sci-captain team in a variety of ships, meeting a mixed team in the exact same ships will NOT be balanced.

this will be heavly determined by the number of people willing to even do this... so far it seems only a handful are interested but until i get 8 confirmed (as in, has tribble and wouldnt mind experimenting with a few builds) then its just a wet dream of mine i guess....

If we had a random pool of premade boffs either you get a random selection of what type boffs your ship needs. Or you pick they pick boff sounds like a lot of planning but I am sure we can come up with something and fast. PVP needs a player intervention hit me up for vent info.

am i snuggly soft at least?

well the restrictions would be for everyone with the idea being focused on teamwork and individual player skill rather then what bo selection i take, that determines who the "top gun" will be.

Just a thought...

What about fighting in T3 ships ? That tier is probably one of the most funny ones...noone would need to respec....

I like playing in my Akira, but taking it in CaH usually makes it the first target for some reason...

Zero powers. That way we are all the same and nobody needs to respec, just clear out your tray. Or switch off your binds.

OR

Only common captain powers. Things that we all have. Evasives etc.
