I did the same thing. Got rid of the defiant for the Sau Paulo which ended up being a huge mistake since i didn't notice one was retrofit and one was refit. Can't go back and reclaim my Defiant with out coughing up $15 for the C-store.
So I dismissed my defiant to try to fix the issue and now I cannot reclaim it even though it was a C-Store purchase and not an emblem one.
Please answer this issue BEFORE locking this thread.

I'm having this same issue as well. I dismissed my Tactical Escort Retrofit on a character, and it's not letting me reclaim it on the same one. It tells me I don't have enough C-Store points to purchase this ship now.
This is not a new issue, at least not with the Defaint retro.
The unlock doesnt work right.
I bought the Defaint during haloween sale and were not able to get it by claiming it through C-Store (beside the initial purchase).
BEFORE the last patch it was AT LEAST possible to get it through the ship vendor directly, now that is gone too (it always tells me "you have already access to this item" although not having the ship with that character) and there is no way at all to get it.
What it doesn't state is that the ship can be discharged and reclaimed. which has has previously been the case.
If that's changed, then expect pitchforks and platitudes.
However, before the sky falls: Hop onto Tribble with a character that's already got one of the retrofits, discharge it, and see if it can be picked up for free from the vendor in Spacedock.
It's sad that the C-Store is so untrustworthy that we need to bring these things into question.
Or, instead of being so quick to blame the C-store, you could read the patch notes. Especially the part under "Known Issues".

Thanks for posting that. It explains what happened to me. I must've missed it in the phone book of patch notes. =)
It still doesn't explain the issue I was having which led to me trying to dismiss and reclaim my ship in the first place. But at least I know why I can't get it back right now.
