# 2811 Why?
03-15-2012, 05:15 AM
This is not the show or movie. If there would be peace, then there would be no game. MMO without PVP is retarded. There are not orther player based factions out there. The game would turn inot player versus computer, wich will get old and boring. The need to change the PVP relms and make less graphic illusions. Fighing in the wake of a comet does not make any since at all. Make a territory scenario where you take over nutral post by seting up an outpost that has weapos to fight back. You would have to destroy enemy outpost to take that territory.

Ah but they do go off of the tv shows. You can't look or play the game and say they don't. The war in my opinion is stupid. At the end of ds9 ( my favorite series. ) we see the Klingons federation and romulans coming together and becoming allies. Then we have a stupid pointless war that has been going on for how long now and nothing has been gained or lost. What's the point of a war if you aren't gaining something in battle.

# 2817 why peace?

We are in favor of making the Klingons a real factions and bringing in more content, but most importantly we are in favor of ending the war. When the war ends there will still be pvp, How you may ask? because we can still have war-games. The only people this war benefits are our mutual enemies The Borg, Undine etc. In addition to a summit we should stage a protest at esd in club 47 to protest this war peacefully (This protest will not break a single rule of cryptics or of perfect world) and help bring it to an end.

As you can see, the Admiral has returned, without physical injury... Surely you now have faith of Romulan hospitality?

# 2819 Federation-Klingon Campaigns

What I would like to see is a move to a Cold War between KDF and Federation. There can still be tons of border skirmishes justifying PvP and all the existing KDF and Fed missions. But considering that the war is moving so incredibly slow (more than a year of fighting in the same sector with no advances or fallbacks?), and provides more opportunity to also include Feds and Klinks working together.

Maybe the war is not quite as cold as the war was in TOS, but it doesn't have to be a full-on hot war either.
In reference to the abve, would not a series of small 'campaigns' based around key systems add realism to the thrusts both fleets would make during the war? Eaither as mini 'feature episodes' or as daily events, STO can keep 'score' (in a PvP style format) or space and ground battles over a set period of time, leading to the side with the most 'points' winning control of the system, and the border being adjusted accordingly?

Let me know your thoughts
