As the post and the new movie explains they are parallel time lines...they both coexist and one does not effect the other.

Finaly, a place to redirect all those people, who are still wondering how nero destroyed to klingon fleets in two different timelines.

Very well done Cryptic, this will sure cut down the several dozens explanations one has to make for the same question in one thread.

Praise to STO being in the Prime timeline.

Here's to hoping we never see anything from the alternate timeline in STO.

This is an excellent update since it shows that the game will be sticking true to the Star Trek universe the community already knows so well while also taking advantage of the hype and such generated by the new film. I think that this is the best way to handle the timeline by far, and everyone at Cryptic Studios did a great job putting this together. Thank you so much for providing what is sure to be a valuable resource!

That was my favorite part of the Timeline! The peace treaty is dissolved ten years before the game begins, so there probably is a war. I also liked how all the series are clearly labelled.

I think that this was something quite necessary, and useful for people like me just getting into Star Trek.
Totally loved the graph. It really helped a lot with some questions I had concerning the Star Trek Time line.
Kudos, and thanks lots to those who thought of,and implemented it.
