But seriously, they should have been a unique item. I only use one on my sci vessel and cruiser...quantums are still the most effective on an escort, and probably always will be. I had no idea you could chain fire them though, and doesn't the torpedo description specifically say, "unless the hull is buffed by the end of the countdown, a secondary explosion will take place?" Is this not happening?

Well...think about what would happen if you're alone, but get hit with 10 harpengs. Probably nothing to worry about, until the secondary explosion melts your hull from inside your shields. It's sounding like the secondary explosion can't be removed with buffs, as intended either.
And the more allies there are within 3-4km range, the more bangs you get, upto 10. They can hit for more than 4k each.
This seems logical, since the explosion is aoe, and it discourages spam . But this...

Seems unacceptable. Isn't everything is the game supposed to have a counter? Because if you get hit with 10 torps, you should be able to clear the effect before if blows you to bits.

Also interesting...I'm using one on my sci vessel and cruiser, but not my escort. I assume it's more effective with beta as well though, correct?
Seriously, if they just made it unique, it would be perfectly fine.
Just had one take me down in my Sci. Seems like what people said are correct that aside from Beta Debuffing, the more NPCs around you, the magnetude of the Hargh'peng is multiplied.
And one thing is fore sure, the bailout rate in matches is sure higher than normal. Seems like every other match there was people bailing out for one reason or another.
