Yup, it's the PUGers tool of choise! Hit and run, cloak and go right back in!

100% right....if youre a fed.

Cloak is the #1 advantage on the klingons side. Sure you can stay in the battle after an alpha and randomly shoot targets wjhile you eat heals from teammates, im sure youll get your damage score nice and high as the target youre shooting gets healed over and over.

Or you can avoid doing exactly what the feds want you to do and actually go for kills by leaving the battle and coming back with an unpredictable deadly alpha strike.

The only way to beat a solid fed team is to keep them guessing and hit randomly but effectively. The "fail" tactics are the klingon teams that are fed clones, who sit and try to outplay them when they are superior ship to ship.

Anyways, this is way offtopic, so a new thread should be made. This one is about tsi day.

I love the raptor and I agree the cloak is a tool to start a battle not be used in a battle. When I am in a match I hardly cloak except for after everyone is dead and they are flying back or flying between cap points. A cloak is only good against people that have no awareness of the area around them. A good cruiser pilot knows an alpha is probably going to come in from the rear or side, escort pilots know it is going to be in the rear or up high, sci know it is is going to be in the rear or side. I understand the gun and run tactics I just feel that it is an inherently dangerous tactic. Unless you can kill something in one pass and then run off the tactic is flawed unless a n00b takes the bait and chases. I do not believe in leaving my team a man down because I am geared for raw damage with little to no self support.

I disagree. Especially in my BoP, whenever I'm not under fire, and not too close to other ships, I always cloak. Being invisible for a few seconds, to get my abilities off cooldown and be able to deliver more burst when I decloak, is a nice advantage.

For non-battlecloak ships I will sometimes run and recloak. If I feel too focused in relation to how efficient I feel the healer(s) is, or if I have every single ability on CD after a massive attack, I run and cloak. I'll be gone from the battlefield a few seconds and I'll take all the enemy debuffs with me , and the enemy team has to pick a new target.

Ofc, I only try to run in ships built for it, and if there are chasers on the enemy team that I can't outrun or handle on my own, I don't run twice. It feels great when I have 2xFoMM, 2xSScan, 2xSNB and target shield, aux and weapons on me to zip out of there! I know how it sux to cast those abilities on someone and have them run off...such a waste...

See the problem with that tactic is by the time you heal up and remove debuffs. in most cases you could have stayed in battle maybe get a kill and die and come back full power keeping the battle at 1 to 1 ratio. leaving changes that ratio which can lead to bad things especially if you are the primary damage dealer. If you have a healer the pressure ratchets up on him to now keep the remaining 3 alive while you lick your wounds and return and makes it easier for the opposing team to ramp up weapon fire since they now have 7 less weapons to worry about from an escort.

This works as you say, if the escort is doing it wrong.

As an Escort, I can deal massive damage over short periods of time, in between burst attacks, my damage is lower than that of a cruiser, my damage resistance is lower than any other ship, and I'm the most favoured target. If in addition I have a ton of debuffs on me, the team benefits from me going awol for a few seconds. Usually, after one or two successful runs, the enemy team immediately switches target as soon as I start running, then I can just sweep back immediately, barely leaving 10km range.

btw: sorry for hijacking the thread... /cry "but mooom! he started it!!"

Im thinking that ill be posting the teams here on the final day of registration (the 9th) so there wont be any issues. Unless we get all eight teams confirmed before then which also means that once a team is confirmed there will be no substituitions until the first round of games has been done. (To avoid anyone from swapping for the first round). I think this is a fair compromise.

For the next time this event happens well take extra measures to avoid anyone seeing who's who until the day of match. (This was actually my fault and not thought of till after... my bad lol)
