People have been asking for re-race/trait/gender since launch, so the siamese twin joking isnt exactly going to derail the devs suddenly putting this in the c-store for you alone

Dstahl addressed this a while ago. He's in favour of it but it requires some extensive software back-end changes apparently. No pun intended.

I have been advocating Gender Respecification for bridge officers for aeons now.

Some people prefer collecting bridge officers of a certain gender, and it is often difficult to get the proper gender/profession/quality combination, especially for the purple bridge officers at Admiral-level (I would imagine the KDF has the same dilemma at General-level).

We need an in-game way to change the gender of our bridge officers.

Please.

Pretty please.

Well, given the technology of Star Trek, this is certainly not beyond reason within the IP.

Siamese? I resemble that suggestion. :p

Try not to forget Lumba. Quark's gender was changed by that wacky Dr. Bashir in DS9. Then changed again. So, yes. Federation medical science has advanced gender re-assignment surgery. So why not offer that in C-store?

Tired of staring at femme-butt?

Is this even possible?

In truth, we have that technology now in real-life. Though I'm happy with the genders I've chosen for my characters, I don't see a problem as to why an individual might need to be re-... gendered?
some of us who play the game are transgender ourselves... perhaps as we start our own transition we want our in game character to model our own transition?

often we hide from society in games, transition in a game where someone talks to those around them may be something that helps them become more comfortable with a real world social transition.

meh, as a transwoman myself i'm still blowing air out of my butt... would like this feature though

City of Heroes has an interesting microtransaction item that allows you to have complete freedom in the tailor. Without this item your build and gender are fixed at the moment of character creation, but with the item, you are allowed to create Bruce Banner/Hulk and Ranma. Might be roleplaying a shapeshifter that changes gender. There are numerous shapechangers in Star Trek, the prison girl in Star Trek 6, Q, changelings, and I am probably forgetting a few. So there is an IP reason to have more flexible options for aliens.
