I was thinking about picking up the Adapted MACO Shields and Engines for my Fleet Defiant in the description it says

BUT when hovering over the shields its a Covariant Shield Array ??????

On a side note I am going to go with rommy plasma DHC with the embassy consoles and was told that one of the rommy space sets increase damage to plasma weapons which I have found no evidence of.

Is the Adapted MACO Shield + Engines suitable for a Fleet Tactical Escort + Tac Officer.

If so what would you recommend for deflector.

It's a typo. Adapted Maco shield is a Covariant.

Secondly, the Romulan Energy Harness does boost plasma damage.

Thirdly, Adapted Maco gives a significant boost to aux, as well as projectile damage. If you're going for a DHC heavy build it may not be the best choice. In addition, the engines do not break the warp 10 barrier.

The shields are covariant. Adapted MACO is KDF KHG.

The Romulan Torp/beam/console set is the one that boosts plasma damage.

Ah I was led to believe it was the space shield / engine / weapon set.

When it comes to sets, is it best to use the full set or is it okay to mix them up? Sometimes I have the Maco deflector , borg engine and maco shield or another shield etc

Regarding your weapons, I hope you are not going with Plasma Disruptors DHCs with Romulan Turrets and Plamas Infusors.

If so, your forward damage would be pretty weak.

Not all of your BOFF abilities and your equipment are displaying correctly. I did see that you you have Plasma Infusors and Ambiplasma. You are weakening your disruptor damage for a slight boost to your Hyper-Plasma torpedo. Not something I would recommend.

That really depends. You have to examine what the bonus is for the full 3 pieces and is it worth it for your build. Sometimes it's a yes, sometimes no and you may subsitute that 3rd piece.

Personally, I love the full 3 piece Borg set. The hull and shield heals are magnificent, hands free repairs. Also, it synergizes very well with the Omega Plasma Torp/Assimilated Console/KCB.

But some really hate the shields, and will replace it. A good example is the Borg Eng & Deflector, coupled with something like a MACO or Elite Fleet Shield.
