That sounds good. I used to love Microprose games. I dunno how that one slipped by me. Must've been in my Amiga days.

Just checked actually.. I believe I was rockin' RPG Maker and Final Draft as my first choice PC entertainment in '99.

Indeed, if anyone is interested in 4x games like BotF, they should check out the mods on my website for a game called Distant Worlds.

I played BotF for years and my brother was still playing just recently. I think there're some pretty good mods for it, but haven't tried any.

Bridge Commander, at least after the modders really worked it over and there were more than five ships in it.

Though I don't know why every time it comes up people talk about flying from the bridge - the game ranged from tedious to boring in that respect, the only thing that kept it consistently playable is that both Federation ships were pretty solidly superior to anything else in the game and just steamrolled everything until near the end when you're fighting the big Kessok ships two on one. Once you install any of the better mods, the AI control just couldn't seem to wrap its head around things and would eventually land in a weird loop (In the Kobayashi Maru mod, an Intrepid would keep rocking back and forth and moving forward and backwards with its belly pointed towards the enemy).

I think what I liked so much about Elite Force was just the hanging out on board ship in between missions, practicing combat in the holodeck after one of the expansion packs too.

Echoes from the Past. Still can't get that groovy theme for Codis Nu VI out of my head.
