The hardest part of KA i have to agree with the OP is finding a team, perhaps its time to offer players a greater incentive to play KA again and attract the masses just so we can get into a team to begin the mission!

If you read the borg feedback on the Tribble forums, there are substantial changes coming. I suspect that eventually well rehearsed teams will get those times down to 15 min for each part. I've been building in Optional Objectives that revolve around that 15 min mark to give you extra rewards when you get there.

There is a ton of new STF loot coming with the revamps... A great deal of it will be random drops from the STF's themselves.

Running the Normal versions of the STF's will equip you to better handle the Elite versions, and running the Elite versions will better equip you to handle Into the Hive.

There will be reasons to run the Normal versions..
There will be reasons to run the Elite versions..
There will be reasons you want to run Into the Hive..

If you never go beyond the Normal versions you won't get all the cool stuff that the people that do run the Elite versions do...

Will you be able to get some of it... "probably" .. but it might take you 5x longer to get it, and some things will be only availible in the Elite versions.


That's about all I'm going to say about the loot at the moment...

KA is great STF, once done with pug team.But this was great team where all members listening group leader who know what to do.

Just wait for the revamp of all the STF's...

Devs stated that they will soon all be around an Hour long, with a reduced difficulty on normal, and a PITA mode on Elite.

30 mins space part, 30 min ground part on average. Much more doable than the current, Pray to your gods all 5 of your have 2.5-4 hours for a potential failure.

I for one, almost never have that amount of Uninterpretable game time. Stupid fact of life.... Those who can afford the $ to play often don't have the time to play.

If these STF's were a single player game it would get ratings of like 2/10, poor design, crap gameplay, layout sucks, everything sucks about the STF's, but there working on them again (same guy that made the rubbish in the first place????) so perhaps theyll resemble 'fun' finally one day.

Hello I have a question regarding the KA Space Part.
Would it be possible for example to kill all but one sphere from an inwarping wave from the Gates and kite it with one player so the other 4 players can do just the other gate? Or do the spheres also fly through the time gateway?

So, for those who have completed KA post season 4 I have a couple of questions:

1) how long did it take?

2) How difficult was the experience?

I just want to know so I can set asside the appropriate time.

that is a little bit unprecise. the first space portion of KA is biased towards dps. your team got it, you're fine. if it doesnt no strategy in the world will help you finsih the first space part.
since tac/escort really deals the most dmg, you could say it's biased towards that setup. but i have seen groups of sci/cruisers blast through that in a couple of spawn rounds as well. dont ask me how they make their cruisers and sci ships deadly - i dont know. sucked at cruiser play. but it is possible to have cruiser deal sufficient damage too.

with a good team it took us less than an hour to complete VA, ground combat is as easy as infected now. if you know how the puzzle works, should not be anylonger than 90min to complete

the only thing a little bit more diificult - or rather annoying is donatra not using her green grlow aoe anymore. far less dmg from her but she cloaks even more often.
that encounter is biased towards dps as well. even more so in s4.
