How do you get the breen variant kit for your ship? and what do the phase channels do for you?

also what is worthwhile and effective aegis or bog sets?

The Shields, Engines and Deflector are all optional rewards for 3 of the parts of the Defari/ Breen featured episode series.

Like said above you get Breen Gear by doing the Breen Episode Missions in Deferi Space.

Phase Channels gives you +30% to your EPS, and boosts Transphasic Torpedo Damage.

Is it worthwhile, probably to Science Ships, but in general you are better off with Aegis and Borg sets.
