You should be able to combo any 2-3 of those skills to completely laugh at any single ship alpha strike. If you can't then you need to l2p.
Burst in this game has already been nerfed to a point where an average match will be 30+ min.
If you are consistanly getting roasted by Defiants then its your issue, not the def-r.
Reposted since you seem to have missed the post from one of the people who know PVP in this game. Oh and i fly Sci in a Sci Ship.

If Starfleet want their hands on the BOP's battlecloak I would love to have the Defiant's agility and potency. It is truly a ship I think carefully about attacking. The shock and awe of it when captained by an experienced Sci or Eng leave me feeling deflated and quiet amateurish. It's an awesome little ship.

# 33 Face it OP....

any and all responces you make here are just further promoting your ignorance to the base fact that YOU...not the Defiant captains, are the one that needs to change. It's as simple as that. Your version of 'issues' with the ship are flawed, your admittance to the fact your fighting against players at VA when you yourself aren't even there yet, your idea that we should pilot somthing else, the "ofcoarse we think it's fine...We're piloting it so naturally we want it Op'd" comment....

All of this shows your true nature. Wouldn't be surprised if this wasn't Azure's alt account for forum skulking. It's already been shown that it's more likeley you just need to play the game a lil' more, maybe...kinda'. Get to VA lvl yourself, work on your abbility to pvp. I know that's pretty tough to accept. It's not the "gimme' nao!!!" approach people...(using the word 'people' very loosley here) such as yourself are accustomed to.

Do yourself a favor and link off of Cattivo's post where he/she showed the history of "nerf this" thread. Read it. Take the time to actually absorb what's there. Again...I know, expecting this type of action is probably foreign to you but do try. It's easy to find fault with somthing and then find a soapbox to raise yourself up above the crowds so you can holler out your opinion. It's far more difficult to stop and think about what it is you have a problem with, and think about how you can adapt yourself to overcome that problem.

~PS, you can wipe off comments all you want, mods... It doesn't change the fact that ppl here see how your quick to protect the whiner and not the ppl that rush to put down the ignorance that flares up from time to time.

I think the reason some people think a certain type of ship is OP is because their set up is totally outclassed by it. I found MVAE's very difficult to counter one on one in my Negh'var for example, but I usually come out on top in my BoP.

As for Alphas, even a Negh'var will one shot somebody if you catch the napping. If you're in a situation where you could be alpha'd potentially... assume you will be. Cruise with a shield buff or two going, and don't fly in straight lines unless you really have to.

Even a BoP can survive an alpha, hit RSP and click the centre of your ship's/shield's health pannel to balance your shields, and if your shields weren't up to full before, they sure are after. Once a ship shoots it's alpha off, if that's unssuccessful they totally lose the initiative to the other player who likely still has plenty of cards to play.

I have success with my defiant-r but I know it takes a lot of <bleepin> work.. When I need a break I hop on my cruiser. So you can't pull the play a different ship card. Much more layed back play style. A good defiant captain has to be watching his tail more than any other. Especially if you are good, your going to be the first target. It aint easy..

This is typically 1 on 1.

Even when you have a group, the ship can easily outgun the enemy 3-to-1.
ESPECIALLY When equipped with the Borg set. It is just TOO powerful.

Cryptic, I implore you to do something about it.

Sincerely,
ACEMAN97
But its not a battle cloak...as long as your firing on him he cant cloak....pin him with a tractor and watch his defence bonus dissappear as you waste him

My Defiant-R has been blown up several times, of course I don't use her as much as I use to I either fly my Lakota (Excelsior-R) or my MVAM for the most part, as I've seen posted here it's all in the person flying the ships. My Science officer fly around in her Intrepid-R like it was an escort and doesn't blow up as much as my Tac officer.

I stopped taking this thread seriously when someone mentioned on the first page the Defiant Retro can tank better than some cruisers.

it's still not as Stong then in TV Show like it should be ...

maybe only in PVE

PVP it might stay as it is now

So, you are levels below VA, and complaining that they are OP? This makes no sense.

I have a friend that flies Def-R. In PVP, he is pretty much dead without the support of my cruiser. He is usually the target of choice for the other team. Why? Because Def-R is so much easier to kill than a cruiser.
