Thanks all for your support and input; it is greatly appreciated.

Your idea would be better in a perfect world, but then in a perfect world they'd have the resources to just make each faction equal in content.
The difficulty in porting was from Tribble to Holodeck. I wasn't suggesting reworking them but "remastering" them, giving them the once over and adding a little polish (polish and features that, most likely, are not available to the Foundry author).

[The development team is already able to copy the missions, as is, from Foundry to their system. In fact, this is what has been done in the past to help authors find and correct problems in their missions.]

I love that idea. If I could write worth a , uhm, something, I'd give it a try myself.

Okay, here's a slightly different (or alternate) idea.

Could there be KDF missions submitted to the development team as above, only this time on a weekly basis. The developers could pick, say, five of the missions (perhaps even one mission per rank) and decide on appropriate rewards for those specific missions. These missions could have a wrapper mission by Cryptic with the mission specific rewards attached and the objective to complete the submitted Foundry mission. These missions could be “on” for a week and then the top five (or whatever number is chosen) of the next submission set could go through the process.

This would have the benefit of offering more choices when leveling and would be beneficial to casual players (hardcore players would blow through these rapidly and be back to the normal progression). This could also be beneficial to social players and role-players.

For example, person one could talk about the mission they had as a Lieutenant where they needed to uncover a plot by the House of <random Klingon name>. Another player may not have done that mission (but would still have access to it on the Foundry if they wanted to give it a try) but had a mission to overcome the great Tribble migration before it hit the new colony. (See, there’s a reason I don’t write missions.) Not only would this spread the word about Foundry mission, but would also add a unique or personal touch to the characters, themselves.

Just a thought.

(I am also going to amend this to my original post.)

Yep, the ideas in this thread are the logical things to do to bring unique content to the KDF at a quicker pace.

Faction Agnostic episodes could serve to fill KDF content gaps. But they are also the same things you can do Fed side.

Cryptic should take advantage of the best KDF Foundry missions and make their content an official part of the game. Give them normal XP and item rewards.

And put the writer's name in lights as you warp into the episode:

"Vulture Wheel"
- by Darren_Kitlor

Every KDF player will see that as they advance using PvE. That's all the reward and recognition most authors would ever want.

Yes, it sounds to me making these missions a part of the leveling experience...well, the best ones that is.... a way to make it so they have very little to do in order to flesh out the KDF faction... make the reward for picking their missions some C_Store points or something cool lin-game, and it'll be a heated contest...

Thanks for your input and support!

I doubt a C-Store point reward would be feasible (getting paid for blah, blah, blah, legal stuff). I'm of a similar opinion to Mirror-Master, a bi-line of sorts. I was thinking it would be more like "Original concept by Darren_Kitlor " or "Based on a story by Darren_Kitlor."

I think this is a good idea, and I hope it is considered by the devs. Darren_Kitlor's "Klingon Experience Project" is I believe already encouraging KDF content creation from the foundry, and helps give a larger pool from which the devs can 'spotlight' missions. If these spotlight missions can be integrated with the normal game for rewards, it would help immensely and would not require a great deal more effort than is already made for spotlighting missions.

The only issue I would see would be the old complaint of people paying a sub for player-made content, but the fact is that player made missions will always be produced far more quickly than dev missions ever will. When the devs made 8 KDF missions back in season 2, the players were over and done with them in a flash. It was a drop in the ocean.

Good, solid, enjoyable KDF missions, made with love, care and attention by players but with an official seal of approval by the devs is, in my view, the most realistic chance the KDF have for closing the mission content gap in the raw numbers needed. I think the foundry community are up to the challenge, and I hope that the idea takes off.

So the reward would be having been mentioned by the devs in an episode?...bah...perhaps a special in-game item only available to those whom they choose missions from..... No legal things there I can see right?

Rewards could be hashed out; I would not oppose the idea of an in-game item, although I believe most authors would be happy with a bi-line. Perhaps an in-game title: Research and Development Specialist? (Yeah, I'm not all that creative.) Or perhaps a limited (to the authors chosen) uniform option: a cloak or cape, a tabard, a medal, or a ceremonial scabbard/holster?

Now, one problem with rewards is they would take resources to produce, resources Cryptic doesn’t have (or they’d be making more missions – I’m the eternal optimist), so a special in-game reward may not be an option.

Thanks for your input!
