Does it stack? I was curious as to wether it stacked currently, I don't know wether it was or wasn't or is or isn't, so any help'd be grand.

I run full plasma and don't have a clue what it does aside from make some very pretty visual effects on their hull. i think it does a little dmg, like a mk1 phaser turret over 15 seconds or some useless bit like that. plasma proc is useless unless you are a pyromaniac like me and just want to see the pretty flames.

i use a "Plasma" featured build on my Kling-Eng-BoP...

if you use Plasma Energy AND Projectile weapons, you can have 2 different procs..one from the energy and one from the torpedo/mine weapons.

and i think it will not stack, only refresh... but i am not sure. and if fully specced into, it will do some dmg too.

Plasma energy weapons, Plamsa torps + eject warpplasma = Burn Baby ! ^^

Edit: and i like to see my enemy burning !

Thanks for the help guys, I may check plasma out. I do like burninating things, and the colour is nice.

I would proffer that if cryptic would allow additional stacking procs, up to say, 3 or so per/weapon type, the additional point investment to specialize might be worth it.

I love me some HYT green ball of death. Useless in PvP, fun in PvE.

When the plasma fire hits, it's a 15 second DOT. If it hits AGAIN, the timer refreshes and the damage over time is increased. This makes Plasma weapons an ideal choice for shield penetration DPS, since the DOT ignores shields.

You sure the clock resets?

I wonder if the additional damage from the disruptor proc dropping the defense value on a target is less than this now?

No, it applies a second dot and you will see 2 stacks but the first one still expires after 15 seconds.

Yeah, the debuff that shows on the ship will show a stack count and the overall timer will appear to reset, but the game actually tracks each debuff individually and lowers the stack count as older fires fall off.

NOTE: The numbers below are made up for illustrative purposes..

DOT1 procs - 1 debuff shows with a 15 second timer
100 dmg
100 dmg
DOT2 procs - Debuff now shows 2 stacks and timer resets to 15
200 dmg
200 dmg
DOT1 falls off - Debuff goes back to showing 1 stack and timer doesn't change
100 dmg
100 dmg

Hopefully that makes sense.

I <3 Plasma.
