A Pirate ship that was so super that a crew of 40 could fly it, and take on a vast alien fleet single-handed, and win. Not only that, but he built four, special, super-handguns, and 4 "Gravity Sabers" which were sort of long rifles that also served as rapier swords. Oh AND several artificial spacedocks disguised as asteroids, with huge recreational facilities inside, complete with holographic skies and beaches and ocean waves suitable for surfing. AND he managed to get the hot/sexy space pirate woman to fall madly in love with him, to the point that when he died, she abandoned their daughter to the care of their mutual friend, so she could remain by his (coffin's) side (floating through deep space). And of course, he managed to transfer his consciousness into a computer... and all this while suffering from a terminal disease.

Not bad for a bowlegged, four-eyed, potato-headed pipsqueak in a dirty poncho and a tattered old hat... but then again.. it was the '70's.

Tarantulas from Beast Wars. Not someone you want to meet in a dark alley, but a lot of fun to watch.

Samantha Carter

Rodney Mckay (yes canonically Carter is better)

Q from the Bond movies....not really sci fi, but come on, put Q in a room with any of those top sci fi scientists, and he'd hold his own.

Frank N. Fruter (Rocky Horror): Yes he was pychotic, but he did succeed at making a man

Hank McCoy from the X-men was pretty brilliant too.

As stated in the first post, I'm going with Seamus Harper.

Come on he built Rommie not once but twice and also built Doyle!

Really? Not even one mention of Spock? He was the science officer of the Enterprise after all.
