Unfortunately for the most part a lot of fleets are the same. My fleet for example has over 70 members with over 90 toons, but we are international, and sometimes I myself find I am the only one on line on some days, but on others there can be as many as 15.

We have a webpage that we use to keep our community active, due to all the different time zones we are from, we use this to organise events and even RP.

I myself find the Fleet most active on the weekends (Saturday mainly) because most of our members are mature and hold Jobs or have family.

You may find most Fleets have an active Website that they use as we do to keep a sense of community alive within their guild. But I do know there are some VERY Active Fleets out there so keep looking

I hoped this helped in some way

This about describes us as well, which is why we are trying to form an alliance of smaller fleets that share a few communications tools to help give us a large pool of players to have fun with without having to give up the sense of family a small fleet can give.

Just makes for a slightly larger family.

I suppose the mentality is that if you convince enough people, it'll be for real... not a good practice to get in to for sure and can prove to be counter productive.
I would suggest looking for fleets that cultivate their community, rather than simply exclaim mass numbers in-game. An active forum and a well made website are far more difficult to lie about and can give clues to in-game activity - www.ufplanets.com

I've only been a part of two fleets and as stated, it is often difficult to find people online at times. While I'm not sure how to solve that particular problem, I must agree with Hathaway in that there are other, very tangible perks a fleet can offer which with a little investigation become apparent. If you don't find a 24-7 online fleet, give the UFP a try. I think you'll be glad you did.... and tell 'em Stormy sent ya!

We only browse EU time zone players (Not limited to only EU-citizens; Read "TIME ZONE")

We're not a huge fleet, but we're active at the same hours, making all of our gamingexperiences and social times alot more fun ! We DO enjoy the game, but we enjoy the company of one another equally.

Some people who seemed nice, and to fit right in the fleet, have been denied membership, cause of the active hours ... It's not fun being in a fleet, with no one to talk to.
Might aswell, not join a fleet, and disconnect all chat channels ... Aaaand game would suck big time after some time alone.

We focus on the social aspect alot, and we all do our part to have fun conversations in the channel Some even don't mind a bit more "private" conversations in there. Underlines the comfort and trust we have to each other.
Very nice actually ... If that's the kinda fleet you like.
Some people like hardcore 22-hours a day online playing fleets.

Find a fleet that suits your need. Find out what u want before you join a fleet ... And ofc. like earlier said. Browse for fleet with an active community. Help the fleets who are not active at the same hours.

We have a fb-page, webforum, ts3 server and looking into website aswell.

Feel free to check out our facebook page. It does not require a profile.

Have a nice day

Hi cplcashcamer, your complaint caused me to write a small wall about the question of fleet activity. Rather than gum up this thread, I posted it on our recruitment thread here in Starbase One,

Imo, fleet activity can be measured in many different ways, and all fleets by definition must be 'active' or they'd not be a fleet. You just need to find a fleet with the activity type that you want, and be prepared to accept the fact that they may not match you in other ways. If you're just looking for folks to chat with, that may not yield folks you'd actually like to team with. If you're looking for folks to team with, you might find they force you to team even when you don't want to, in order to keep their 'activity' high. Or they might be a bunch of people who ascribe to beliefs you don't. Or any number of other aspects that would make it less than fun for you.

At the VKF, we aren't shooting for specific growth or activity levels. We just want to enjoy STO - sometimes with friends, sometimes solo. The friendship part is more important, and we're just lucky that we so often get to fly with each other too. And chat, and banter, and trade game tips, etc.

Anyway, I hope this stuff helps you.

My problem has always been fidning a guild/fleet with members on my game time, Central time midnight +. I have always run into the guilds that brag about their numbers. No idea why they do, not like it takes much effort to drop and move on.

My fleet's small...so the percentage of those online is rather high....heheh

I'm on for a good 12 or more hours a day....Depends on what's going on in RL....Generally on from 9/10am to whenever the wife starts giving me that look...you know..."get the frak of the computer"....Usually happens about 10-11pm...sometimes a little later (Central time)

I have 3 others that are active, and 1 semi-active. Looking to add more....but I hate spamming recruiting messages. :/
