Definitely needs to be a Heavy Battle Cruiser, no to a carrier enough with them already. Something massive and imposing, a contemporary up-scaled and up to date successor to the K'tinga series incorporating the new technologies. No more "bird" influences that's a borrowed Romulan theme not truely a Klingon one [ Memory Alpha ], a real Battle Cruiser or Battle Ship with Klingon aesthetics please.

Since I like how the current borg tech set looks, maybe something with hybridized borg tech, not just bolted on salvage pieces but something the KDF has purpose built into the ship now that we've been using captured tech and reverse engineered some of it.

considdering this was the last flagship on screen Nagh'Var with BFG's (Big effing Guns):
http://images.wikia.com/memoryalpha/...Var_attack.jpg

for me it has to be a Cruiser, no BoP, no Carrier

google pic search only showed me this one, that i allways liked:
http://files1.guildlaunch.net/guild/...leship9111.jpg

but after Stargate Universe that design looks way to much like a rip off to actually do it.

i found some Birds of Prey that i liked on that Bridge Commander modding site,
they look more agressive then anything STO has to offer (Logan take notes!)

but no Flagship material.

here is the one and ONLY ship from that BC site that i would accept as "NEW Flagship"

well at least as a concept that can be improved upon

Definitely a battle cruiser and a big one at that. Bigger than the Negh'var, but smaller than a carrier (note: I don't currently have any KDF characters ranked high enough to pilot either, but I'm working on it, so don't murder me if the Negh'var is already close in size to a carrier. :p).

Visually it should be the next step following the evolution from the Vor'cha to the Negh'var. And by that I mean sweeping wings leading to the warp nacelles, with a long neck that narrows towards the front, and a roundish but still angular front section with an opening in the middle for a BFG.

If not that, than this:

I would LOVE to see a 'SUPER MEGA TITANIC MOTHERSHIP carrier' that could shoot out tons of fighters and BoPs... but other than cosmetics... I don't really see how anything could be better than the current carrier in game. It's already a gargantuan mammoth juggernaught of death.

I think if we were to make a KDF flagship I would design it around the VorCha class, but bigger, slightly less manuverable but a ton more hull. It should have a mix of carriers/cruiser benefits and drawbacks. Sort of a Engineer/Sci hybrid ship. For example it should be durable but slow, have 8 weapon slots, be enormous (About 2/3 the mass of a carrier), be able to have a single carrier bay, have a +10 to weapons/aux. It's loadout should be like Cmdr Engie, LtCmdr Sci, Lt Tac, Lt Engie. It's 'special ability' should be some kind of 'torpedo turret' with slightly reduced range to counter the ability to fire in any direction... something like 8km. Or even a superpowered cannon/torp that has a narrow 45 degree firing arc that looks like a plasma torp (big, fiery, intimidating...) that does rediculous damage. Think 'death-star' in terms of doom potential. Now THAT would be a KDF flagship I could be proud of!

It should most definitely be a battle cruiser. A future Negh'Var variant. The reasons have been posted enough and I won't repeat them.

For ingame mechanics this ship should really represent a "battle" cruiser. Give it a Commander and Lt. Engineering slot, a Lt. Commander and Ensign Tactical slot and a Lt. Science slot. Give it the stats of a Negh'Var and make it beautiful!!

Uhmm

I think a new type of klingon battle cruiser that embeds the whole empire a ship that has the flexability of a BOP and the abilitys and power of a neg var and a vor cha class

Without a doubt, a cruiser has to be the "Flagship." A Carrier's job is to provide supporting fire for the big bruisers with fighters. In that battle, the fighter pilots, technically, would win the honor for defeating a foe, with an honorary mention of the General of the Carrier.

However, a Cruiser is the backbone of the fleet. It is a single, big, battleship bristling with guns and firepower that is so large and imposing you don't want to attack it for fear of it pulverizing you with weapon emplacements. A true flagship of the Klingon Fleet would not need fighters to aid it. It would weather the storms of battle itself and fight for its own glory.

That says some sort of super-cruiser, if anything. A monstrous vessel designed for intimidation and power. Two massive underslung Disruptor Canons similar in style to the Negh'var, but beefed up to be similar to the Galaxy X Phaser Lance. These would be mounted close to the main hull of the vessel to weather the kickback force along the frame of the vessel rather than the more delicate wings. Four impulse engines along the rear of the vessel and on the aft section of the wings, a testament to the amount of power required to fuel and move this behemoth. The Warp Nacelles would be mounted in Klingon style on the end of the wingtips, however, two smaller nacelles could also be mounted towards the aft, similar to the Hegh'ta variants of the Bird of Prey. All that would be mounted on a frame built for power, but also made sleek to emphasize the dangerous beauty of a blade. This mighty ship would not fly through space, it would slice through it, a testament to both brutal efficiency, and form.

Do this, and it would truly be a sight to behold.

EDIT: Just before I post this someone goes and posts THIS image. Something similar to that, taking into account what I said above would be pretty amazing. I wouldn't copy it exactly. But some of the lines might be neat to look at. A mesh between that and a Negh'var would likely get my vote.

What about a mobile star base?
http://starfleetcommand3.filefront.c...arbase%3B45675
The Klings are defiantly one to think up something like this, especially if you using it as an npc.
IF it had a nacelles that retract during combat it could be viable
