No... In fact if you stay behind them (wich is for me at least doable in: Nova + Golfball Class + Intrepid, DSSV, GalX, Connie Refit, Excelsior (T3 and T5), Galaxy, GalaxyR, Saber, Akira, Defiant, Fleet Escort and Defiant Retrofit), you're in no danger.
Compared to the fact capital ships are supposed to be the major crown jewel of badass ships... Theese are hillariously easy to take down.

I have beaten those ships more than once and i have never had a problem with it (playing at "Advanced").
So far they are among the few really fun PvE enemies if have found, much more Boss ships should be like that IMHO.
They don't need to be nerfed IMHO, they are just right as they are.

I think it would be better (and more Trekkish) if there where much fewer PvE fights but they should be more like fighting the DESNA or the other Breen Capital ships and should give more XP.

TBH i think those ships are really fun to fight, IMO.

Live long and prosper.

Not sure how you meant the term, but the ship is "just" a Battleship, the standard final enemy in a Kill 5 exploration mission.

Going by the Foundry NPC groups, the classification is
Frigate
Cruiser (this includes Science Vessels, Cruisers and Escorts, if a race has some of each, you'll see this rotate randomly)
Battleship (like the Klingon Neg'Var or the Typhoon)
Dreadnought (only seen when fighting in a team, in a Fleet Action, STFs or DSEs with a large population, and the occasional heavily populated Ker'rat instance.)

Shockingly enough, the Undine Dreadnought that is spawned in the (remastered) P'Jem mission can be destroyed by a single Escort already, within the time limit until your reinforcements arrive.

Tough little ship indeed...

Take 5 people in a team into a Explore mission... There will be one instead of the usual battleship.

Id like to see it more difficult actually.. All these special accolade things should be a lot harder to accomplish than they are..

Buff it to STF Cube stats... 800k hull, high damage and regen, would be a good start.
Slightly more powerful that a Crusier? Hardly! With a crusier, I can eat away at its sheilds on one side and then start lobing torpedoes at it. The Captial ship seems to constantly balance shields such that the damage I inflict gets transfered around. A Jupiter dreadnaught, the Gorn's Balrag dreadnaught, and a Borg Cube are all easier to defeat than this sucker!

Hmm.. Our mileage differs then.. I can just spacebar this ship to whatever cold afterlife the Breen believe in, as easy as any other cruiser/battleship in the game.. 1 or 2 passes in a Escort or slightly longer in a Cruiser..

Yeah I have faced these ships maybe 10-15 times though none int he current season. First few times I had no problem even when I got into the front arc took a little longer that way but a cruiser can handle it. Go at them with escorts and stay to the rear and its butter. But what do I know I am a PvPer?

To the Op:

I run an Escort and I can destroy this ship on Elite... By myself. So yeah...

You said you focus on weapons power but that is a mistake. It helps you get through their shields and kill them but if you leave shield power very low then you will die too fast to be worth anything. If you have your efficiency skills up for shield and weapons, the Borg Console, a good Console to increase maximum shield capacity and shield power then you should be able to leave both weapons and shields sitting around /75 or so and have ample power for both. Cut down Engine Power because it is useless vs. slower ships like that and make sure to have Polarized Hull Plating to break their tractor beams.

Now I have no idea what sort of ship you are flying... but if you are an Escort then zoom in behind the big ship and as you near around 5K unload with your highest attack pattern and Rapid Fire. If you are a tactical captain then hit the Flag Ship with your Fire on my Mark. The MOMENT its shields drop hit your High Yield and drop some torps up its undefended rear. If you ever get under 50% Hull go ahead and call in fleet support and buff them with your fleet ability.

As suggested stay away from its front side and if you get hit by the Breen Syphon then get your tail away for a few moments because you do NOT want to sit there with your shield power all but gone shooting weapons with likewise no power at the ship. Also remember if you get down to 50% Hull and have a facing shield gone on the enemy it is a good time to hit Brace For Impact, Evasive Maneuvers, and Ramming Speed and deal some heavy damage to them while hitting yourself with Hazard Emitters on the way in.

If that does not help you then I am not sure what else I can offer... If you are flying a Cruiser then this ship may be more tricky because of not being able to keep his front away from you and how weak most Cruisers are in damage dealing. If it is a Science vessel that you fly then you should be able to knock his shields out fast and hammer is bare hull at your leisure.

I am just jealous that you guys have actually gone up them. I seem to be unable to find them when I do the "Aid" missions.
