The idea of the Enterprise F having multiple versions to support different play styles sounds good to me. I don't think it should get full universal bridge slots. They'd have to reduce the hull, shields, weapon slots, and/or console layout to compensate for that, which doesn't seem to make sense in the progression of cruisers.

It is a Klingon faction perk for one line of ships. Many of the other perks have slowly been stripped away. I'd rather not see this one go to.

Well, we don't need to turn this into another argument over Klingon uniqueness and features. That is a whole other issue. I would like to hear of ways for the ship to be slightly more usable to other classes then engineers, however, I do not believe universal bridge officer slots is the answer.

What makes Klingons unique is there ideology that is much different then the Federation.

Is just seem that certain people just want their Klingons to keep their advantages.
No, the Raptor is more like an escort. Ideology isn't gameplay. Your post insinuated that the Feds have no advantages whatsoever. Feds have unique ships and abilities that aren't available to the KDF.

I always love reading the "Ask Cryptic" and "Engineering Reports," and this month's "Ask Cryptic" was very good, very interesting.

So far, I'm not regretting my LTS at all, thanks for always working to live up to our expectations and desires, DStahl. You still da' man!

Q: McCooey Any plans to add more starbases in different sectors?
A: Yes, and in fact the next Featured Series will open up a new one for both Fed and KDF players.
Starbase 375, perhaps? It figured prominently in the Dominion War arc, so it's somewhere near Cardassian space. Of course KDF players will need their own base.

As for the Enterprise-F, give it just a universal Lt. Commander slot. That will let players tailor the ship a bit toward their field of choice.

Anyone else notice that Dstahl said 'Possible' sale of Cryptic, suggesting that the sale to Perfect World may not actually be complete and may not go through?

With launching Season 4, the entire team is focused on adding new content over the months ahead that will utilize all the new cool features and combat updates in this release. We are currently in development on the following content: Featured Episode Series 4 which will take place around Deep Space 9, Special Task Force updates to improve and balance these missions into something fun and/or challenging to play, Borg Invasion Events which will include a weekly ground assault on a to be announced species homeworld as well as hourly Borg Deep Space incursions into all sectors, new locale flavored neighborhood missions for social zones, OpenPVP Encounters, and four new Fleet Actions (1 exclusive ground and space FA for each faction). So yes. We absolutely plan to release some great new content to show off the new combat updates in Season 4. All of this content is currently scheduled to release at various stages in Season 4 between now and October.
Here's the question Dstahl answered:

can we hope for more content soon as well?

Q: Zarkonis When will we be getting more social clothing options for Fed and KDF?

A: We do still plan to remove the concept of "off-duty" costumes and just have a "costume" slots instead of needing to separate the two. As far as new clothing options, we were looking to add some new social options with our next Feature Episode series and then after that look at adding more options related to the social zones that exist in the game.

it would also be nice if, in addition, that you can obtain/purchase the costumes at the tailor, but switching to costumes that you already own be done at various other logical locations. for example, you can change your clothes when you go to your quarters. or you can switch to your bio suit at a bio suit storage locker near and airlock, shuttlebay or transporter room.

another thing.. i would like to start seeing more alien locations. bizzare life forms and trees. would love to see more variation on life forms and planets when you go from planet to planet. too many planets have the same exact flora and other type objects.

All universal slot Ent-F?

Bad, bad, bad idea. Stupid idea, even.

But A universal slot, even a high-level one, would be acceptable, in my opinion. Something like (and this is just something I'm tossing out now)

Universal Commander
Engineering Lt. Cmdr
Tactical Lt.
Science Lt.
Engineering Ensign

Eng-oriented, as an Enterprise cruiser rightly should be, but given a high degree of flexibility as to whether it goes full-tank, SciSpam, or Tactical.
