Alright, I'm having a heart-wrenching time deciding how to spend my cryptic points, and I'd like ask for help on deciding what to do with them. So, here's my dilemma- I bought several thousand points recently with the intention of purchasing one super cool ship, but.....there are so many ships to choose from! The ships I was considering are the D'Kkyr science ship, the multi-vector escort, and the excelsior class heavy cruiser retrofit. The D'Kyr looks cool, but versus the Voyager retrofit, it's just meh. The Multi-vector has a very cool ability, but the Defiant retrofit is better in PVP. The Excelsior has always been a favorite of mine every since I was a child playing with my micro machine excelsior ship, but it's turn radius is awful. Do you understand my predicament now? Honestly, I'd rather wait for the new enterprise or a new Klingon ship. The three ships I mention above just aren't worth the points, in my opinion. What do you think? Should I buy one of these new or wait patiently?

wait.

It seems like you won't use them anyways. You'd pay X amount of points to take a ship out of space dock fly it around a bit, then switch back to your primary.

Wait for the new fancy stuff, or for another sale.

The mistake you're making is you're going for "What's cool." Do some research on these ships, then go for what works with what role YOU want to play as in-game.

Alright, alright! Lolz. Let me redefine a cool thing to mean more than just the material goods we desire greatly. When I mention a cool ship, in addition to referring to an aesthetically pleasing ship, I mean ships with interesting abilities and a number of advantages over non-Cryptic store ships. That being said, I will definitely do more research on Cryptic's current and future ship offerings. Oh, and thank you for the advice Jizzack. I will definitely hold back now until some newer ships begin to emerge.

As a person that owns all ships short of the Captain's Yaht...I say this...play with the ships on tribble and decide that way. You lose nothing til you decide on holodeck and in the end pick a ship that best suits your style of play. All ships have advantages and disadvantages based on your specc and your purpose for the ship as well as your skill.

Wait, hold on. You can try out all ships, including C-store ships, in tribble without having bought them previously?

the mistake your making is not waiting for a sale. 50% off was the last big ship sale.
