I heard from my cousin's nephew's boyfriend's auntie who knows someone who used to live near the Cryptic studio that the Feds are getting a carrier soon.

It supposedly can use enhanced battle cloak, has 6 Universal bridge slots(none of which are Ensign), 4 of every console and has 3 bays launching either (3 waves of 4 Fighters/Shuttles) or (3 waves of 1 TOS Connies) or a single Dreadnaught.







PS If you believe this will happen then that is the same chance the Feds ever get a Carrier. It could happen but then so could World Peace break out and last for 1000 years.

Please let this go. If you want to fly a carrier roll a Klingon toon.

I assume it was the same cousin's nephew's boyfriend who told you that the Feds had such a dismal change of ever getting a carrier? Or were you going for some sort of 'off the charts' meta-irony?

Enlarge the Solvergin, and elongate the neck. There is a decent looking carrier (Ships lanch out of the neck similar to how they lanch on Ds9.

to chime in on this without any sort of offensive arguements or discussions coming from me I have several points and questions which I have answers to in which people here are asking themselves:-

1. Why don't the Feds have carriers?

A= The Dev Diary Part 3 explained it perfectly. The Ent-F was seriously considered a carrier however that would have made it a ship built for war. Ok, STO is a time of war, but the Feds won't and don't move away from their values and ideals and a carrier contradicts every one of them. The reason escorts are in the Federation is because of Wolf 359. Look at every one of them, most (except MAYBE the Prometheus) were built as a result of the Borg incursions into the Alpha Quadrant. Sabre, Akira, Defiant were all present in First Contact against the Cube. Sisko stated that the Defiant was built as an escort. When Kira asked that she thought the Feds didn't built escorts, Sisko replied that they didn't, but they did this time because of the Borg and even then it was pushing it. A Fed carrier goes beyond these limits and Federation values so they cannot commission one.

2. Carrier's aren't canon! Why are they in-game?!

A= Because they are. The reason the KDF have them is exactly the opposite of my first answer. It fits the KDF in every way. A massive command ship ready for assaulting worlds because the Klingon Empire conquers things. Many of you guys replying in this thread have said that the KDF use Heavy battlecruisers for long drawn out big combat situations and small attack crafts like the Raptors or Bird of Prey's for support and raiding as it is what the KDF does.

3. Why are there fighters in-game?! Go back to your own franchise!

A= Peregrine Attack Fighters in DS9. Enough said.

4. The Feds don't deserve carriers whereas the KDF do because they have so little.

A= Agreed with the KDF point but not the Fed point. They shouldn't have it, that does not mean they do not deserve it. It's like I said earlier, it goes against their values.

5. The Feds should have carriers.

A= Why? Is it because the KDF have them? Is it because you want more stuff? Is it because you want the Feds to have everything the KDF have? None of these reasons are rational enough to have them. If there is a different reason, please explain to me.


These are general questions I have seen in this thread so far and every other "I want a Fed carrier!" thread. This has been discussed many times and I urge people who have not seen these other threads to see people's thoughts on them a bit more and see the devs' opinions on it. Since Heretic pointed out there are no plans for Fed carriers, we can speculate on why you guys want them, not when is it going to happen.

Federation carriers do not belong in Star Trek, that being said, the federation have used large support craft detached from capital ships. Examples being Galaxy, and Prometheus class starships. This i can live with and agree with because ti is Star Trek. Carriers for the Federation is not. The Klingon do not have science ships, yet we all science can ruin someones day in sto, so should the Klingons get science ships? The answer is no because it is not Klingon like. So what do the Klingon get instead a warlike platform, the carrier. So please give up these multiple insane posts about a fed carrier. I have both a Lt General, that uses a Neg'var, and Fed vice admiral. I dont want carriers period lol. I refuse to use one on my klingon because i believe its pushing it to have one in star trek.

So because you hate pets you are opposed to adding a ship class that you would never have to play?

It makes sense that there would be a fed carrier eventually, but I agree the Klingons need some more love before that happens.

1. The Akira will never be known as a Carrier. It is and always will be a Torpedo Boat.
2. Canon may mean jack shakeandbake in this game but the Klingons deserve Uniqueness. If you want a Carrier run though the mission "The Vault" time and time again.
3. Cryptic does not have the rights to use anything from Star Trek: Invasion.
4. It has been mentioned by Stormshade, Wishstone and Even Dan Stahl himself that there will not be a Federation Carrier.
5. CBS also does not acknowledge federation carriers.
6. You can't have a federation carrier until I get a Endgame Constitution First. See sig.
