Funny how all those things (which are pretty much everyday now) seemed so "far out" or people thought they would end up as fancy toys for rich businessmen. Amazing.
It wasn't that 'far out' in 1993 either. Cell phones were less common, but they were around. E-mail was in widespread use too. It's just (for home based internet access) most folks starting to use it were on dialup with a 14.4K-baud or 28K-buad modem (56K became mor common 3 years later )
In one way or another - most of teh "you will" stuff was in use 5 years or so later.
Have you ever gotten a dropped call from your brand new phone because you held it the wrong way?
Have you ever had your phone network drop your calls regularly?
Have you ever signed a one-sided contract with a company that forced you to continue to do business with them for years even if their service is horrible, under penalty of severe financial cost if you try to leave?
