The design is going along nicely. Can't wait to see it in game.

If it is going to be a Tier 5 in game, I think it would have the following Officer seats..
Com Eng, Lt Eng
Lt Com Sci
Lt Tact, Ens Tact (there is a saucer separation, right?)

If there is a new Klingon Flagship entered in as well and it is battle cruiser, it would have

Com Eng, Lt Eng
Lt Com Tact
Lt Sci, Ens Sci (It would have some fighters, though like the scorpion ones)

Click on the picture to see it from three angles. They really took it in more of a Sovereign-meets-Intrepid direction.

The ship is coming along nicely, I'm even thinking about retconning to cruisers instead of escorts...

...IF it is among the faster turning cruisers. It should feel agile like the Sovereign, not the large asteroid the D is !

# 14 About saucer seperation...!!!
07-08-2011, 05:30 PM
Just so everyone knows if your not up to speed on the saucer seperation when it comes to the Enterprise F. I was an avid reader of many of the Star Trek novels years ago. The idea of the saucer speration was actually intended for two reasons. One was incase the ship had a serious problem with the engineering section. The saucer could be seperated and used as a life boat until resuce arrived. The second reason was for any major refit or renovations to the saucer. The saucer would seperate and land at any major ship yard. This way there would be no special requirements of working in space for the major refit. Then when the upgrades were complete...the ship would fly back to the engineering section and reattached. I think the idea of having a saucer seperation on the Enterprise F would be a great addition to the new class of ships. This would be a continuation of the Enterprise D. I hope the game developers make it unique over the other ships that seperate.

Boy Im getting down with this design now...

I liked the original drawing entry.. It lost a bit for me in the last dev diary. The back end tail lookalike bit really put a downer on it for me, plus some other bits..

But now, those renders are really looking nice. Im back on track with this, cant wait to see it in game.. and more so to get my hands on one....

I'd love to see the following BOFF setup:

Universal Commander
Lt. Commander Eng
Lt Tactical
Lt Science
Universal Ensign

LOVE it! just like all the other ones! i can definitely see the Sovereign profile in it's design, and that's not a bad thing (it IS the successer of the E after all )

but regardless of the similarities, it is clearly it's own ship, the dual necks being the most obvious feature for that like the idea of the auxilary craft, though i'm not sure about the saucer separation (but then again, i've never played the Galaxy-R, so i can't comment)

i only wish we had more angles of her, along with color and smaller details, even if they aren't the final ones

Regarding "Auxiliary Craft" and "Saucer Separation":

We have seen ingame what these auxiliary crafts were so far. Gimmicky and often next to useless or buggy.
I don't want that for the Enterprise F. Either make them working really well or don't do it. Don't do another "Horta combat pet" that blows hard, space version.

Saucer Separation: The Galaxy already looks like a beheaded Chicken when doing this. There is a reason this wasn't done often in the show, it just looks bad.

My suggestion for a special power:

Eject Warp Core

Effect: huge kinetic damage wave, disable all enemy systems for 5 seconds
Drawback: No Full Impulse for 2 minutes, total loss of power

+seconded what Deltafox said: Please make the Enterprise F maneuverable, not a brick like the Galaxy class.

problem with that is that no ship at Tier 5 has two Commander stations, so that would too overpowered (and people complain that cruisers are overpowered enough as is)
